Jeff ‘The Marrickville Mauler' Fenech Wins Seat to WSOP courtesy of 888!
888/Pacific Poker proves there is no way but up for them as they secure yet another victory by hosting a successful Celebrity Bounty Event or what some are referring to as ‘the event where Jeff Fenech won a seat to the 2008 World Series of Poker*’. After his win, the local boxing legend and one-time Mike Tyson trainer also agreed to don the 888 logo on his shorts for this Tuesday’s return fight with fellow triple world champion, Azumah Nelson. This will be their third clash since 1991 and millions across the world will view the fight. Present at last Thursday’s Celebrity Bounty Event in Crown Casino was none other than 888’s own, Shane Warne and a list of his other local celebrity friends including Nathan Buckley, Livinia Nixon, Alex Fevola, Gary Ablett Jnr, Klara Lisy, Cameron Williams, Kelly Landry and Tim Campbell. Each table had a celebrity with a bounty on their head giving players the chance to knock them out for an exclusive prize pack valued at $300. There were a total of 170 players who signed up for the event with the top three winners going home with a $17,000 WSOP* package each and places fourth to twenty taking home awesome cash prizes. Entry to the event was $550, with players having the option to buy-in direct, or qualify through daily satellites at 888.
