DISCLAIMER - I will happily retract this statement if it turns out to be incorrect at a later date.

Late last week I contacted InterCasino and demanded a phone number for TLC marketing, and after much, well, let's call it "deliberation" they finally gave me the contact number in London. TLC Marketing are the organisation responsible for booking the "free flights".

+44 871 221 0511 is their phone number if you want to call them - I'll give $25 on stars or FT to the first person able to actually speak with a person who can discuss the free flight promotion.

In the last 3 nights I have made 6 phone calls, and each time "the person I need to speak with is out of the office / in a meeting / with a client but will be happy to give me a call back ASAP".

TLC Marketing purports to be a large multi-national corporation, so it strikes me as odd that they don't have a single person in their London office who can help me - nor call me back.

What's even more strange is that the same guy answered my phone call on all 3 occasions tonight, however the last time tried to pretend he was someone different - who had not spoken with me previously ! That's usually a pretty bad sign IMO. Funnily enough he remember my name and the city I was calling from ... but I digress.

It has also been brought to my attention several websites where other dis-illusioned customers around the World have been promised flights or other marketing 'giveaways' by TLC which have never been delivered.

You can locate these by googling "TLC Marketing scams". Here are just a few.

Look, I might be jumping the gun here, but the form clearly stated they would be in contact with us no later than 21 days after receiving the forms. Has anyone heard anything ??

If I am wrong I will HAPPILY make a public apology on this site to both InterCasino and TLC Marketing - but if I was a gambling man (lol) I would say we are drawing to a 2 outer with one card to come.

Bugger, I just sent in the voucher today with my credit card number on it.
I hope I don't have to cancel my cc or something. Looks like the promotion was too good to be true. I wish I'd seen this post yesterday, I would have ripped up the voucher.

I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
These dreams in which I'm dying,
Are the best I've ever had.

UPDATE NUMBER 1 (I expect there will be more).

After spending 14 minutes on hold (I guess they expected me to hang up!!) I finally spoke to Mark Shephard whose title was Travel Promotions Manager.

He gave me his assurance that all flight offers will be made to customers. Apparently the delay is because our forms ended up back at the Australia office despite sending them to London.

This in itself sounds suss, but I'm willing to give him the slightest amount of slack here. He then refused to give me the Australian office phone number ... hrmmm

Anyway, he gave me his personal assurance that I would be contacted within 48 hours, and gave me his personal mobile phone number (which if I have not heard from him in 48 hours and 1 minute I will post here obv).

He also said that the other promotions which were never delivered were "misunderstandings from the American office".

He said that no one should be worried and that everyone eligible will get their flights.

We'll see ...

keep us updated.

i emailed intercasino today and they gave me a number to call for the booking agent. the number was not in service!

they are currently sourcing an email address for me so i can contact the booking agent.

at the end of the day it is intercasino's responsibility to provide us with the free flight.

I was given a number to use to fax the booking form.

The fax number they gave me did not connect.

Also I was annoyed that they said we can fly from June 1st and then when I got the form on may 15 it said allow 30 days for them to process the order. This meant I'd miss all the wsop events I wanted to play.

Well I finally got a phone call back last night at 2:30am to say that TLC Marketing - NEVER RECEIVED MY #@[email protected]#[email protected]# FORMS - which is an absolute lie as I had them couriered, and still have the tracking number and code which show the exact time and date someone from TLC Marketing signed for them.

Unfortunately by the time I got these forms it was after 5pm UK time, so couldn't reach anyone.

I once again spoke to InterCasino to let them know, and they promised to have an email address for Australian players to contact within the week - which really could not be more unhelpful.

I'm going out to book my own flights today :(

doesn't look good....

I am contacting you with regards to your query on the FLY USA
promotions, and the contact numbers of the booking agent.

I just wanted to give you an update on this issue as I have received
word back from our Casino Manager, and I didn't want you to think we had
forgotten about you.

The Casino Manager has advised us that he has an e-mail address
specifically for our Australian players and that he expects to have this
very soon. He also confirms that he has contacted the booking agent
again and that they are in the process of setting up an new e-mail
address and assigning one of their Australian personell to manage these
interactions.

At this time the email address in not yet ready, but as soon as we are
in possession of this, I will contact you back.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding in this matter.

I managed to speak to someone at TLC Australia today - it wasn't easy tracking down their number, but I got it.

They confirmed that they are indeed handling the flight requests of the Australian people who participated in the Australian promotion, but she couldn't tell me when they will be getting in touch with people.

Once again I left my name and was assured a manager would call me back between 5pm and 6pm tonight.

It may not necessarily be a scam which is good news, but it sure doesn't seem to be very professional.

not sure how old this is, but note 35,000 customers were eligible!!!

pretty easy to see how these scammers make money:

Citibank-TLC row goes to arbitration

The Supreme Court has referred for arbitration the row between Citibank and the British life style and travel company, TLC Marketing, by an ex-judge of the court.

TLC and its Indian partner Wunderman India of Mumbai had approached Citibank with an offer to promote its credit cards linking them to a scheme called 'free return flight voucher' or 'world for free destinations'.

The plan was accepted as the companies claimed that they were world leaders in consumer propositions, helping clients to meet their objectives such as customer retention and loyalty.

According to Citibank, 35,000 credit card members were found eligible for the return flights. The scheme went well initially. Later, the bank started receiving complaints from its customers regarding breach of commitments by the travel companies.

TLC Marketing phone numbers for anyone to call. Go ahead, give them a call !!

I briefly spoke with InterCasino today and asked if they would re-imburse people who completed the promotion when they inevitably choose to book a flight which actually exists - they said they would call me back.

It's kind of like every job application I've ever been for ... just never do get that elusive call back ..

Anyway, knock yourselves out calling these guys.

Mark Sheppherd +441792630694

Mark is apparently in charge of flight promotions for TLC UK. He has repeatedly failed to answer my questions, and during our most recent discussion made it pretty obvious that TLC will be adopting a "you didn't correctly follow the T&C of the promotion" as reasoning to reject my flight. He also rang my home at 3am yesterday morning to tell me my documents never arrived - however quickly changed his tune when he found out that his company had actually signed for them.

Marie ________?? +442074875155

Marie is the booking agent for TLC Marketing UK and works out of their London offices. Of course no one ever answers this phone number, and it strikes me as odd that a large multinational corporation doesn't actually have a recorded message, but whatever. This mythical creature is the person who will be booking all of our flights "if the applications were made in accordance with the T&C" - and assuming they actually acknowledge receipt of the forms.

Nutella - (02) 8904 7200

Nutella (yep that's her name, not sure on spelling). Seemed to be a nice girl, tried to help, promised to have Marie or Mark call me between 9am and 10am London time. Of course they didn't but whatever.

Nutella works in the Sydney office of TLC Marketing. I look forward to stopping by there in the next few days ...

Office of TLC Marketing UK +448712210511

These lovely folks are more than happy to take messages and guarantee that we will have our phone calls returned - sadly they never are.

so you dont have a job either? no one calls back, why is that? With unemployment at record lows, wages at all time highs.
Oh well just hang on a minute, chat to yoyo and maybe he will investigate a little more, things take time, i have also qualifyed for the promotion, if it comes through yaye, if not nothing lost+2 hundo.
It passed the time lol,if it is a scam we wernt hurt too much and will get on to the next big thing lol.If you had relied purely on this promotion to get to Vegas,I would say that was poor judgement.

Actually Scotty I was being faecicious, I actually work as an adviser to a Member of Parliament.

I understand that things take time - but TLC Marketing have shown a complete reluctance to answer any of my questions, refuse to return my calls, and generally give me the indication that getting a free flight is going to be about as simple as space travel.

The fact that they now are trying to position themselves to tell people that a) their forms were never received or b) they didn't comply with the T&C pisses me off.

I actually made a few hundred dollars from the promotion, but that couldn't be less relevant in my opinion.

People are entitled to their flights to the USA, and I am certainly going to do everything I can to make that happen. If you want to be blase about it, that's cool aswell. If you want to write it off as "lesson learned" I certainly won't stop you, but I think people are entitled to get what they are promised - and I'm happy trying to give people the information to make these decisions for themselves.

The fact that this company has been getting away with running these promotions in the past and failing to deliver is just another reason why consumers should practice vigilence - and demand what they are promised.
