Not since Bonecrusher v Our Waverley Star in the '86 Cox Plate have we seen such a neck and neck battle. These 2 trojans of the felt have swapped places several occasions now with Demetriou currently in the lead with 3 weeks to go. But that could all change with both players deep in tonights Saturday night $550. Sunday is the last chance to grab double points and with 2 huge tourneys on offer (Sunday Special 12.10pm $100 & Double Points Terminator 4.10pm $230) the lead could easily change again.

The race for the Audi is really hotting up, dont miss a moment of the action as the air fills with tension.
Stay tuned for details of the POY presentation for all placegetters.

Best of luck !!!

Well FUCK ME!!!!

Here I was thinking what are the chances of Andrew entering a tourney that would provide enough double points, let alone the odds of him actually scoring the points, let alone the odds of WINNING a tourney with enough points to win the car from Pete.

Well I just better shut my cake hole and bend over right now, coz I look like a right tossa after criticising Crown about the stupidity of a Double Points Week!!!!!

P.S. Congrats to whoever wins it. Both would be deserving of the prize!!!
P.P.S. Bone Crusher vs Waverley Star. Some of the pre-poker boomers have no idea what you're talking about. They would struggle to remember Testa Rossa vs Redoute's Choice!!!

I put a week's wages on Bonecrusher for the win in '86 and made a nice collect. OK, so I was a paperboy back then and my week's wages weren't that much, but it was an exciting race and never ever have I been so emotionally involved in a horse race.

Back to the other race. Peter was only 32 ahead before today, so the race was wide open. I have no idea why everyone says Peter has the car won already. This will most definitely go down to the last week of June.

Andrew won the $25 rebuy on Saturday, Peter was 8th, then in the $550 on Saturday night, Peter finished 3rd and Andrew 4th. Crown site shows Andrew 370 ahead, Peter would have pulled some back last night, but there's still a long way to go.

Well, whoever wins the race everyone will definately agree that they deserve it.

Anyone want to put odds on them not winning it next year (thats if they put it back on)? I'm willing to take unders on them both scoring an accumulative score of less then 9000 points - anyone want in??

Why play international events for big $ when you can continue playing the exact same tournaments every single week against fields of <30ppl and at the end after giving up so much EV (lol) u miss out on an audi by 3 points...
Once again, if I am not mistaken, this can contained, tomato paste...

I doubt Crown will be offering a car again next year.

Peter and Andrew can still play the WSOP ME if they wish as that starts in early July.

Andrew has moved ahead by around 480 points after a 4th place finish in this afternoons Sunday Special.
At last report Peter is still in the Terminator which also has big points on offer after getting 95 starters.

No offence to either of them, but i think i want Peter to win.

Its kinda hard to pick a side though, because they're both nice blokes who've been around the room a while.

However being good friends with peter ever since ive been playing in that poker room for the last 3 or 4 years me and him have always got along. So its kinda 'sentimental' for me to see that 'donkey' win . . . ha ha ha

I'd tell you that some of my best friends are Greek but it might be taken out of context as some appalling euphemism.
(Even tho in a literal context its true)

IIRC Peter was up by about 400 points before Double Points week.

Now Andrew's up by 400 points.

Can't they just settle this like Lincoln Hawk and Bull Hurley?

Dont know either of these gentlemaen and from what i read both sound like good guys but given the small buy ins relative to the price of a new Audi what is preventing one of these guys buying a number of mates into the last few tournies just to dump chips off to him?

In the unlikely event that there is a tie, what happens?

Maybe they can share the car... Andrew has it Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and Peter has it Tuesdays and weekends... Custody of the back seats will be discussed at a further date.

But in the unlikely event that there IS a tie, how will it be determined? With so little points seperating the two, it could be slightly possible...
