Blogging hiatus

What up guys

Well it's been a decent stretch since my last post, I just haven't really felt like posting for once I guess! Some of you have probably heard that PNW as a site isn't moderated anymore, so there is a good chance I move my blog elsewhere sometime in the next couple months.

Acting class takes a break over the long weekend so I haven't been rehearsing much, and for the most part I haven't binked any scores in the last stretch - for the month I've had 9 final tables and 14 final table bricks from 367 MTTs which is fairly uneventful (and kinda low volume-wise) and I'm down maybe 5k or so. I had a really deep run in the Sunday Million yesterday (thanks everyone for the rail and support), but bet/3bet a flushdraw+gutter to be 4/30 or so and bricked out, a spot that really would've set me up for a solid run at 200k+. Shootaa is in Vegas so I haven't had my first sixmax lesson yet and haven't put many cash hands in either (3k hands, up a couple buyins).

So yesterday after bricking the mill I took a sleeping tablet at 4.30pm, didn't wake up until 7.30am this morning, missed all the good MTTs, decided to be kind and drive Mell into work (an 8km journey which took 52 minutes, f u post-long weekend traffic) and then decided I couldn't be bothered playing all the small stuff, so here I am

I have been going out a bit lately though, which has been good given there's been so much on my mind relating to the future of online poker. I went and saw the Pies/Saints game with Berky, Delaney and Andy Hin, which was a fairly boring game (good to see draft pick Alex Fasolo play really well vs Melbourne yesterday though). I helped Republican celebrate his quarter life crisis with dinner at Maha and drinks at Bond Lounge. I watched a few movies (Hangover II which was shithouse, not even funny, and Bridesmaids which was the funniest movie I've seen since the first Hangover), went out with Rawkz and Milf one night (to Turkish restaurant Gigibaba which is that good I am amazed I can't find a well-written and current review for, and drinks at Caz Reitop's Dirty Secrets), and took Mell to Los Amates which is probably as good as Mamasita when it comes to authentic Mexican.

All the publicity and rumours about the future of online poker in Australia are genuinely giving me the shits, in the same way that the way office workers treat job uncertainty annoys me. I've gotten to the point in my own mind that I can handle the possibility that I can't play online anymore, have a strategy around what to do if/when and what to do in the meantime, but when people start talking to the media or publicly spreading rumours/semi-truths/stuff they've heard through the grapevine I just do my best to tune out. The self-interest and stupidity of some people in this field is so transparent that it is genuinely -EV to waste your time on them, it's unsurprising that given the low barriers of entry into gambling as a profession/semi-profession the majority of people in it I wouldn't give the time of day in real life and barely do online either.
