Eskimos. Polar Bears. Mounted Police. Ice Road Truckers. Violence on Ice.

What’s not to love about Canada?

Especially if your an overweight Australian degenerate gambler, cleaning up betting Ice Hockey.

Sick Brag Alert:

So things have been going pretty well betting Ice Hockey of late. Now a lot of people might be wondering why an Australian who can’t even ice skate properly might be betting such an obscure sport that is only loved by Canadians, and those eccentric Scandi’s and Russians.

I gotta say I love Ice Hockey. It combines guys wearing blades on their feet, trying to kill each other, while occasionally putting a solid black bit of rubber into a goal. Again I ask, what’s not to love?

Better still of late there seems to be countless opportunities to jump on home ice underdogs and make better than even money. Since the start of February i’m 4/4 on home underdogs that i’ve bet. I’ve shied away from another couple due to the home team’s being in poor form against hot road teams, but even half of those have won as well.

I’m not saying just to jump on all home ice dogs. It takes a bit of research into injuries, form (in particular the starting goaltending match-ups) and recent scheduling. Teams coming off short rest (ie if they played the day before) are something to stay away from or even fade. While teams that are coming off cross-country flights (especially good teams like the San Jose Sharks, Washington Capitals or Pittsburgh Penguins) are always good for as a value fading target.

Of course as most gamblers know, the betting game can be quite fickle, but I’m hoping to keep making hay while the sun shines (or at the least while the ice is frozen in Canada) and hopefully you can spot a couple of winners as well!
