Speaking of middlish scores...
2011-05-19
Well after whiffing a whole bunch of stuff in the last couple weeks I went on a little midstakes run the last two sessions, with the following scores:
2nd Stars 109 turbo - 5000
4th early stuper - 5500
Three handed chop FTP 50c - 4500
3rd FTP 129KO - 3700
3rd FTP 75fo - 1900
I suppose that could be a beat about not closing but whatever
Also grats to Hugh for getting 2nd in the SCOOP 1k turbo for just shy of 100k and Milf who is through to day two of the SCOOP 109r big antes with 13 left and 67k up top. Aussies are absolutely crushing atm, the games are still softer but if you run into anyone good it's pretty much always one of your mates...in the last twenty of the FTP 30r today I think there was me, Rawkz, Dave, Jay, Brad and Andy Hin..not exactly the most decent of spots!
Not much else to report except I got Jared Tender's new book The Mental Game of Poker. I haven't read a psychology book on poker for a while but Jared had a really great Cash Plays podcast a while ago on tilt so I thought I'd pick it up. I haven't read too much of it (just the first three chapters which are about the learning process/constant improvement, covers a lot of concepts like conscious competence and 'inchworm', a nice analogy about improvement) but I'll give you a rundown when I do.
