    Default Getting Rakeback

If I have any clients downloaded can I still get rakeback off any of the sites offering it?

for example I play on Full Tilt and tried to sign up through Poker Road but was declined.

Given I am about to start playing real money on stars as well thought I would ask the question before I deposit first time.

First of all, Stars don't offer rakeback.

Full Tilt: Unlikely but possible. If you signed up through an affiliate offering some sort of sign-up bonus but not rakeback then you won't be able to claim rakeback now. If you just downloaded FT and opened an account, you can email them and ask for RB and they might offer it to you.

For the most part though, if you don't sign-up to a site through a RB site than it's unlikely that you'll be able to claim it later on.

If you haven't got a real money account yet email support@fulltiltpoker.com or go to rakebackpros.com and sign up, 27% rb (standard for tilt) and its run by the FT pros themselves so no affiliates folding or screwing you over.

If you've made a real money account and deposited already, you're pretty screwed.

I wouldn't advocate playing under your 'friend's' or 'wife's' account just to get rakeback because that would be unethical obviously.

what do you propose to do when FTP or your ewallet asks for your "dog's" ID or bank statement or whatever, otherwise they won't let you have any of your money?

Not necessarily - all players are eligible for rakeback at PokerStars in the form of their VIP program, regardless of where you downloaded it from.

A good site that analyses the value of the PokerStars VIP program is here:
FPP PRO.com -- Home to an Explanation of Pokerstars' VIP Program (Rakeback)

if you downloaded directly from FTP, email them directly about this. they will probably direct you to rakebackpros or whoever their "preferred rakeback provider" is.

this relies on you not already having any cookies, etc on your computer before you downloaded, but you should be able to get it.
