Hey lads/gals
I was just wondering on a good strategy on building up my bankroll, eg. is it better to play ring games, SnG or tourny, how many tables at once and what kind of buy in should i look for? I have deposited $50 on my account and sort now float around the $200-$400 mark, but i wanna keep advancing past that. Any tips. thanks |

you probably need more than $50 to play anything decent.
I woudl plan to load another $50 at least then maybe play 5c/10c ring game. probably 9 max + until you get it to $200 then go for it with 6 max at the same level. 20 buy ins is what i work by generally. |

Stick to your limits is another key peice of advise actually the best peice , wait until your crushing ur constant level and have a 100+ buyins for the next level before advancing.
And be prepared for the swings sometimes you'll run like a good other times it you will question wether or not you know what ur doing at all. |

Can I just ask an add on question: -
do people seriously think that you should play 1c/2c until you crush it before moving up? At the moment i am playing alot of 1/2c on stars as I have no money on that site and not alot of time at the moment so decided to just play here and there a bit until I have more time to spend on my game. but its so all over the place at that level cause you cant play certain bluffs and you have to ABC it. I just think it makes more sense to start at a decent level and just fund that out of cash. if you go live your spending at least $200 in a losing session at most casino's so if your not willing to spend at least that on a deposit - why are you playing? did you play inside your bankroll the entire time or have you pplayed outside of it on occassion? just interested in people thoughts. |

if you can afford to put 200 online go for it.
play $10 untill you can move up and go from there. I think what really stands out about your post is "but its so all over the place at that level cause you cant play certain bluffs and you have to ABC it" Where a lot of micro players let them selves down is that that try certain bluff when it isn't necessary. there is no point bluffing someone unless you know why you are doing it and what you expect them to do with there range of holdings or its just wasted money. If your playing at that level then i doubt you have the skills for this and should just stick to playing tight straight forward poker. Value bet the hell out of them and build your roll up. You don't need to bluff to win. |
