Default Keep playing while on a roll?

I have been playing today, and managed to turn $2 into over $5. I opted to get out while I was ahead, as i wasnt to try and build up some cash (at least break-even from the $30 I deposited). Do you think that was the right decision, as i also had a good win on another table. (was playing 2 at once).
I felt as this was my first real good day, I may have got over-confident and done my cash.

But do you believe that if you feel your starting on a roll, you will keep that momentum up?

Currently your run-good switch is obviously switched to "ON". You need to take advantage of this situation and make hay while the sun shines. Play lots of poker in this scenario.

Do not try to withdraw funds. It is common knowledge that this will cause your switch to turn "OFF", and this is very difficult to reverse.

Contrary to popular rigtard theory I always run hot when I withdraw and leave under 3k in my account and run cold whenever i'm over 20k on any site. I can only conclude I need to withdraw as much as possible as often as possible.

Like where you start winning a few hands and you start to feel realy good. Its not really a poker term, just an overall term used for any scenario similar to this, like a football team winning 5 games in a row, and they seem unbeatable, they are on a roll.

Thanks for replying guys, I probably should have kept going, but didn't want to lose the money I had just gained. Probably with more experience I will keep in and turn $5 into $10. I'm starting to get the nack of poker, and hopefully can build this up in the future!

"Believe" is close to being the opposite of "knowledge". Use evidence but not to decide such utter nonsense questions.

    Answer the following first:

    - How do you know you are on a "roll"? When exactly does it start? Winning $x or #hands?
    - What is "momentum" and how do you know it started/ended?

There might be a slight element of "confidence" when you won a few pots but if you have such a week mental constitution, you will tilt your money away soon anyway.

Not a stupid question (given that this is about retarded gambling) but the most unscientific and ignorant one ever!

    thanks,

Where poker is concerned, someone is more or less on a roll if they think they are on a roll, or if their opponent thinks they are on a roll. Confidence means quite a lot in both directions, particularly HU.

I consider myself to be 'on a roll' if I am able to dictate the flow of a game.

At least that is how I understand the term.

When does it start/end? This is a useless definition. What if both HU players think they are on a roll? Is this possible? This is utter nonsense ...

whether or not your by any definition "on a roll" my recommendation (from past experience) is:

Double your money get off and get back on to a table. you should keep playing if you feel like your playing well and making sensible desicisions and are not tired or dont have other distractions. Get of and stay of is you dont feel like playing further.

Also, If your on the bigger sites at 1/2c or 2/5c there are so many people playing multiple tables you can find one that looks the same as the one your leaving anyway so despite most people saying stay and crush if your beating a table I think it is fine to come and go.

i also implemented a rule for myself where i take a half our break once i hit a pre-set limit of profit. As i find i play too long and lose, so this was a way of making sure i forced myself to bank less than a double up on multiple tables.

    I play 4 tables normally.

Start/end is obviously when you/they think it does. How is that useless?

No, it is not possible for both players to think they are on a roll. It is based on recent skewed results.
