Default Was this the time to call all-in?

    Hi,
Your thoughts please on my calling all-in on this hand.

Entry into Canberra Anzpt satellite $425.00 via winning $11.00 rebuy. Made my way down to last 2 tables and at this stage am about 9/17. Chip leader joins the table and has at least 3 times stack of everyone else.(been on table for about 10 mins and I have watched him on his previous table) He is pushing all in or raising to everyones stack size and monstering the table. He is pushing with a wide range and getting lucky, hitting the board and knocking people out. 2 hands prior he pushed and I almost called with QTc. If I had of called, I would have rivered a flush. He showed 5 9d or something like that.
At this stage most of the stack sizes are under 10 000. A double up here would have put me close to the top. Considering the the top 4 got ANZPT tickets and the next two got cash. I am kicking myself for getting involved.
Should I have let him go and wait for a better opportunity? I felt like he was pushing with any two cards and with my AKo, i would be ahead preflop (Which I was)

As an online player my statistics would show I am one of the 97% of players who don't make money. I don't have the time to grind away like online winning players do. So I have chosen to try and satellite into these anzpt games in an attempt to play in a quality live tourney. Pub poker just shits me and StarCity tourneys clash with my work and family.

Have a look and let me know (constructive criticism only please.)

With less than half the average stack, you're not going to finish in the top 4 by folding AK pre - that should be enough of an answer
The Penguin is a survivor - he will be there at the end

You are still quite a way from the bubble and you are going to need to get chips to get into the money. You've got to figure given he's pushing wide that you've over 60% equity in the hand. You're going to be waiting a while to get better opportunities than that.

I've sat'd into a few APPT/ANZPT's thru doing exactly what you have. Also look at the $265 Seat onlys.

    Insta call there, every time.

Cheers for that. Often finding myself around this end of a tourney with mid to low stack and just shy of the prize. (especially in the turbo sats) I suppose it is a leak in my game, not building enough of a stack and getting to a point where it is jam or fold.
    thanks.
