    Default Wrest Point Casino Ruling

I was playing their $1/$2.5 table, I don’t even remember the specifics of the hand (It’s not important) but I rivered a Ten high flush. After all betting had finished the pot was roughly $80.
I was first to turn over my hole cards, pretty sure I had won the hand, but then one of my cards gets “caught” on the felt…flips…cartwheels…and pirouettes… and lands face down over the “line”(their poker tables have a “box” for each player and all betting has to take place over the line) the dealer announces “Fold” and before I could say WTF…my cards are Mucked, and the pot awarded to the other guy, who didn’t need to show his hand.
I asked the dealer “what happened” he says that the Wrest Point Casino has a rule that it doesn’t matter if it was an accident or that the card was by its self nowhere near the muck or any other cards, if one card is face down over the line then it’s an automatic Fold.
    Is this rule Normal?

Sucks but the definition of fold from Wrest Point Poker Rules is

    "Fold
A player stops contesting a round of play by passing one or both card(s) over the fold line, face down on the table."

    and further states

    17. Any cards that cross the fold line face down during a round of play shall be deemed a fold.

Standard at Burswood. Any movement forward, no matter the situation, is a fold.

wow. I think that is likely never to happen to you again....

I wasnt worried about the six fingered dealers in tassy, how do you deal with everyone at the table having two heads and being able to cover your cards so they dont see them...

Unforunately you only these cruel rules like this, when people with no poker experience write the rules.

I remember a little while ago when they had the rule that quads beat a straight flush.

The sad thing is that despite this rule being very player and game unfriendly,it is a house rule and you must abide by it.

Since this happened to me,(no CeeBee not me that time) I have heard of at least 2 other people (now 3), who have been caught out by this rule, and it seems that the dealers take pride in "catching out players", both players said it was with the "new" cards that seem to 'catch' the felt. I haven't played since (just playing online) maybe in the new year I'll give it another go. It's a shame that things like this would put me and others from playing live poker. It's strange that they let other rules slide (I have even heard the dealers say something like ("who has the Flush", on a 4 suit board) with players yet to act.
