basically, just after I got back online after losing 70k to the koreans, I ran almost as bad as I think its possible to run for a couple months. But no one ever wants to hear about it and its all a big joke anyway, some people run good their whole lives, some people grind against the grain - its all relative anyway, i'm lucky in many other respects, just not in gambling all that much, not this year anywayI just posted the graph as I thought its kind of interesting, there are kids born into families here in Manila who's net worth is like $130 if you include the scrap metal they've used to build their shack. I'm caucasian, healthy, well-schooled, devastatingly good looking and I have a massive wang.I'd say out of the 6 billion people in the world, for LUCK, most of the people reading this noticeboard are in the top 5%

yoyo, i may be stating the obvious but this graph could also indicate that you are losing stacks of cash from folding too much after lots of cash in the pot, being overly aggressive and not going to showing (and losing) or any other associated spewage. I am not saying this is the case / maybe u r just unlucky but i thought i would share info on what the graph means...i.e that there is many variables in total winnings that are not considered in expected showdown winnings...

It's a statistical representation of ONE of the variables of luck in poker, actually a fairly important one, maybe even the MOST important one. When money entered all-in, EV I should have won $140,000. I won $70,000. There is an equal chance I win $210,000. These are big numbers. There is no need to point out captain obvious statements that any 50c/1 player knows. The graph is what it is, its simple, its not totally representative of all luck in poker, but it is very representative of one important aspect of it.

Yoyo, if you provide us with both graphs as above you can get a better idea of what is going on...I.e from the above...you can see that i am likely to be winning a shitload of pots without going to showdown (very LAG style) and generally suck when i get it all in. This is quite true of my style. I often go 5 to ten buyins without stacking someone (i make almost all my coin- in fact i dont lose coin when i am not all in).Thus... post ur second graph and we'll be able to see whats going on.

I imagine a graph of my crap would be similar or worse than yours Yoyo...I feel that luck is a bell curve thing with the vast majority of people in the curve between 49% and 51%a very small number of people are right out on the very lucky end (many big time pro poker players for instance) and a commensurate number of people on the very unlucky end of things (like me).Who else do you know that can by 100 tickets in a 200 ticket raffle (that he is running -just to be a good bloke for the cause being supported) and still not win 1 of 3 prizes!!as an experiment I played lotto in Sydney twice a week for 3 years - never won even a 5th division payout....
