    Default Saab super call

Situation 6 left APT Manila.Saab deep. Typical steep payout structure. What range does Dave have to put Jin on to call? At best he was getting around 1.5-1 pot odds.On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} Jin Man Yun moved all in from mid position with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. David Saab went into the tank and eventually called with {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Yun picked up a flush draw on the turn but was unable to improve.Saab is now holding well over a million in chips.Chris Roh exclaimed, "Wow David, what a crazy call". Saab then replied with "Not at all Chris, it's sexy poker."If Dave says its Sexy its Sexy so whats the range that makes it so?

it all depends what happened pre and also take into account the whole metagame between these two.realistically, Yun isnt making this play with a queen. Most of the time you will see this play being made with a mid pair or diamond draw. He figures his 7s are good, likely up against 66-22 or a hand like ak-ajdd and makes the call. A good call but one that isnt ridiculously tough for a good thinking player.

Thanks Grunter.Would a check raise have been tougher?PS I reckon the metagame would have been "Has the last of these crazy pushing mofos really got a hand or is he donking yet again?"

I'm not really sure it is the right call for a cash game, but I guess tournaments are different. I'd be more worried about seeing AdTd or something? You can't be much better than a coinflip here even if you have the best hand most of the time, because you only dominate 22,44,55,66 - otherwise you're flipping, a small favourite, or buggered.Still, I have had the (dis)pleasure of sitting next to Saab before and he puts a huge amount of faith in his reads. He really sweats it out and thinks things through, and has the courage to follow through with his convictions. He's not a guy you want to try and big bluff, that's for sure.

Agree with grunter that more likely than not he is never shoving there with a Q, a flush draw and and pairs between 22-TT seem like his most probable range. Not an overly tough call for a player of Saabs quality I wouldnt think.

Also agree with thret that you have to hope the guy is holding 22-66 otherwise you're either flipping or stuffed.

    Spot on boys, wp sir.
