2/3 at crown with set
very interesting hand i played recently against 2 good regulars, would love to hear from crown playersI have about 500$, UTG has the same and Button has over $1000 after just winning a massive pot.Im in BB with 33, UTG player raises to 25, everyone folds to the button who makes it 50, i call with 33in the bb and UTG calls the 25. Immediately I took my earphones out and began concentrating because we all respected each others game, so I knew I had some thinking to do, UTG and button also sat up and became very interested because it was 3way with the best players at the table. The flop comes a beautiful AdKs3c which is great because 1 i have a set,2 the other people in the hand mostly likely have an Ace and I will get paid.I check for deception and suprisingly UTG and button both check. Turn comes 2s putting out a flush draw so I bet 25 to make any flush draws pay to see the river, UTG calls and button raises to 50. . . I tank for about 30sec (so he thinks I have a weak ace or something) then call, UTG also calls.River comes 10s completing the flush draw and broadway straight. My first instinct was to go all inbut I decided to think the hand through ... I cant put them on a flush or a straight so i dont want to miss the chance of getting more money in if I check and they both check. I figure the best thing to do is to make a small bet and milk them.So i bet $20 into 300, UTG calls then the button goes all in (wtf?). I call and UTG calls also.results were:UTG had A10 - 2 pairBUTTON had QJs for straight and flushTalk about a bad beat
Was talking about this hand with a crown local tonite and he agreed the hand was played fine untill the river except the river should be a check and then fold . . . I just cant bring myself to fold trips!! *edited to correct some formatting issues!
