Hey you just got unlucky, you were the in front when you moved in, and he went with his 17 out draw
you made the right move imo

GRET. When in doubt, go to this website

Poker Odds Calculator : Calculate Texas Holdem Poker Odds

It will tell you about the % of time you will win the hand.

The idea is, if most the $ went in on the turn (like in your hand), then enter the flop and turn into the calculator (+your cards, and he's cards) and calculate the odds.

If you are >50% favourite, then it was probably a good shove.
If you are <50% favourite, then it may be something to discuss in this forum OR you may come to the realisation that it was just bad play on your own behalf.

As played preflop I call turn, call river or vbet river if checked to you dont have much to protect against on turn that you arent crushing (his exact hand is the only one) and you want him to bluff the river if thats what hes doing or minimise damage when he has 2p+ while still getting to showdown

Wait just saw two clubs on the flop disregard that.

Go with your read on the turn shove or fold is fine. Fold against nits shove against most players.
