I was faced with a call to an all in call, i called with my pocket 8s but with the flop coming 72A i folded my pocket pair...if i reshoved my stack all in could have i got the AQ player to fold?

Players on my table were giving me stick saying i should have reshoved all in to get the third opponent (AQ) to fold, but with two aces on the board this was a great fold by me...

I know you have been told to stop posting results before, so am unsure as to what part of that request you are having trouble understanding. You need to learn that results are absolutely irrelevant to the question of whether a hand is played correctly or not. Any idiot can luck the river but they believe that justifies their play during the hand they they will always remain a losing player.

    As for this...

A - When you folded there was only one A on the board.

B - As above, what is on the board means nothing unless you are basing your decisions on what you think the villains hold in their hands. What else affected your decision to make this fold?

After putting a 1/3 of your stack in pre flop what was your plan for the flop? Was it always to fold if any overcards came on the flop? or just Aces? From what I can tell the villain made a standard cbet, with a shortstack already all-in and you folded. He could very easily have been doing this with nothing.

To be honest folding your pocket 8's after the flop was indeed a big mistake, you should have folded them pre flop, calling a 13xBB 4bet with anything less than KK this early in a tourny is pretty awful IMO. You created your own problems by calling a large re-raise with a mediocre hand and no plan whatsoever for the rest of the hand.

If you had a read and suspected the all-in reraise was doing this light and wanted a gamble then at the very least you should be thinking about shoving over the top pre. This way you have fold equity and could get the original raiser to lay down his hand - then you can race heads up with someone who will not bust you should you lose.
