    Default AJo

Is a snap muck UTG when deep in a MTT right?

I seem to be getting myslef in tough spots when raising with it UTG. Is it more correct to just fold it?

    Cue flaming....

90% of "bad beat" stories I hear from my player start off with:

"I was UTG with AJ right....."

It's actually a running joke within our office!

Depending on table dynamics I generally won't play this from early to mid positions and will generally just open with it and fold in other spots.

Then the short stack shoved and I 'had' to call........

I fold AJo deep with a decent stack - I've come this far - don't like blowing it with nice looking trouble hands like AJ.

It's a steal really isn't it? Stealing is good right?

Top of your folding range etc.

Depends on stack size. I'm assuming you're talking about 9max?

It's probably an open shove with up to about 11bb. In some turbos the average stack might be 5bb and it's certainly a shove then. If you're 200bb with no antes, you could raise, you could fold, it's all situational.

You don't want to be raisefolding AJ UTG with less than ~20bb most of the time. A lot depends on the type of table you're at. FWIW I would usually fold if there are no antes or raise if there are antes, depending on stack sizes and a lot of other variables.

If you could define the question a bit more specifically you would get better answers

Also, UTG is the new button obviously
