Default Does he always have AA here?

Rebuy Satellite. Top five get tickets, 17 players remaining. Villian is chip leader ($130K) and UTG, I'm third in chips on the button ($70K). Blinds are 1K/2K with antes. Have only seen solid play from Villian haven't seen him spewing chips and he has been at my table pretty much all tourney.

    I've got

UTG limps, one caller, I decide to call as well, SB calls, BB checks.
    Pot: $11,600

    Flop:

Checks around to me I bet 8K, SB & BB fold, UTG flats, one fold.
    Pot: $27,600

    Turn:

Villian checks, I bet $16K, he min raises me. ???

Can you guys fold a set here?
I would also like to hear thoughts if this wasn't a satellite and we hadn't reached the money yet.

I can't possibly imagine anyone ever folding. Ever.

Id be excited to see AA, the same way as I would 22/99+ here, either way it don't change my line. Ever.

Here is why I thought he has to have aces:
    1) 99+ (except AA) would check raise on the flop if he is check raising. It doesn't make sense to do it on the turn. what is he trying to achieve by the CR on the turn? from how he has played so far I can't say he is a donk making a donk move.

    2) 22 is a possibility but with the same degree so is aces, the question is given the fact that its a satellite and I'm 3rd in chips (granted still have 12 people to go through) is it worth assuming that he has 22s and call all the way? or is the better option (god forbid ) folding? and even on this point is it worth calling him down all the way or shoving at this point? I definately think shoving is the worst option.

    3) Finally I think 22 would either check raise on the flop or lead out on the turn otherwise he is giving a draw or a bigger pair a free turn card. I honestly think playing AA the way he has (if he has aces) is also wrong because a flush draw or a pair bigger than the board will check behind on the turn and get a free card and he wouldn't get paid. He doesn't know that I have a set.

    Anyway I maybe overthinking this.
