Re: Ace chasers... HELP
read the tournament version of Harrington on hold 'em. there might be a few exceptions but generally everyone at apl is terrible at poker. it's ok as a night out or whatever but if your serious about getting better dont copy the so called good players at your apl games. Read books, play online, read heaps of tournament strat articles (assuming u want to play tournaments). put in a bunch of volume online

Re: Ace chasers... HELP
Hey Bud,
I am new to this site but have been playing live poker for a while. Like you I started at the freerolls @ APL. As the others have mentioned you need to do some research online and read some books especially in regards to starting hands and position. You will notice that your game will improve but can only improve to a certain level. This is because no matter how good you are at poker it is hard to defeat drunk clowns that might call your all in with 85os and hit a straight or something stupid. The idea is to keep playing and seeing as many different hands and flops and then move up to cash tournies. Look up NPL's website for local games. Even @ $20 buy in the game changes. You will still get donks but you'll find you'll go further. GL..
BTW A c-bet is a continuation bet when you have raised pre-flop and then bet on the flop. Seeing as you didn't raise pre-flop your bet on the flop was not a c-bet.
