Default This one has me thinking.

Okay, I bought into a $0.02-$0.05 ring game with the $2.00 minimum and over 30 minutes gradually built up to $4.74 with the most recent pot being five or six hand ago against Super_X_2012 who bought in again after I felted them. At this stage, while I know I'm only playing for stuff all money, I am still trying to improve my game and this includes not throwing any money away needlessly.

What I really don't know here is whether the fold was the correct move. After all, I bet 3xbb pre flop and got called. It was then checked to me again so I bet half the pot. Then this guy basically three bets me and I use my thinking timer and fold. Should I have called or raised knowing that it was getting expensive?

Based on the limited info you provided. I'm all in, very weak fold imo.

I really wanted to go all in. After all I had taken this player to the felt not many hands previously and he could be tilting a little. And I really couldn't see anyone calling my pre flop 3xbb bet after checking to me in the first place with anything that would have improved with that flop. Which I felt was confirmed when it was checked to me so that I could bet half the pot (edited that in original post).

But I only had JJ and it certainly isn't an unbeatable hand and didn't want to get cracked after working hard to build my stack up. Is the fold still weak? Like I said, I really wanted to push all in here and I used all my thinking time before folding to conserve my stack.

Yes, still a weak fold, if your bankrolled for the limits your playing you cant be scared of getting stacked here. I don't know what this player plays like, bit he could by raising with 10's, 9's and 6's here, prob even worse. While you are going to get drawn out on, for the most part you in good shape in this spot.

It;s a cash game, you don;t need to protect your stack, you can reload as much as you want. You just have to get it in here.
