was more thinking along the lines that hero's line looks super strong (value bet 100% of the time) and that there could be more value in checking and having someone value bet worse........
guess on this board we miss out on too much value by checking. probably a more valid idea on a board where a bunch of draws whiffed.....

Depending on opponent and stack sizes, stage of tournament. I also note that I think the only time I have ever 5 bet is when I'm jamming, and I wouldn't Jam in this spot if I can put villain on Ax range as I think he folds 2 a 5 bet most of the time and we miss value. But if blinds were 50/100+ and stacks were still the same it would be a different story.
I like getting a bit more money into the pot with such a strong hand pre flop.
I also like taking control of the pot.
Here we are over 50 BB deep. We still donk bet. So we still have room to move if we don't jag the A or K, or think we don't have the best hand post flop.
But I see where you are coming from if, we flat and miss - we are out off position against an aggressive opponent with a hand that looses half of its value because we haven't seen 5 cards. But I like taking that risk with AK early on as it puts me in a position to win a big pot with a commanding hand against a single opponent when we do hit (as we force the BB out most of the time). Sometimes we take this pot down pre or with the bet on the flop - even if we hit or not. But Sometimes if we jag A or K against Villian here we stack off and double though.
That being said when I 3 bet flat a 4 bet I am screaming AK here... and if there is no A or K on the board it does open the door for Villain to ship it every time to my donk bet, but that's assuming villain is half decent and can think on this level, sometimes you call and are in front against some stupid gut shot draw, other times you are against JJ.
I just think if we get into 5 betting in this spot the only time I'm getting called or shoved on is a hand that's beating us most of the time. And I hate folding AK pre-flop in a NL tournament.
