Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Darren Domin for allowing us to stage last nights Melb Champs Satellite at his home in Ipswich.Also to Steve Kalantzis couldnt of had last night get off the ground without your help, so a huge thanks mate.We had 30 runners take part in the tourney last night and to all those who came out and took part thanks for your support hope you had a good night.We even had a welcome surprise visit from Darryl Dazzler himself...good to see you again mate...word is the Dazzler cleaned up in the cashie too, after final tabling the tourney.We had a pretty solid field with some well known QPN faces making the final table...Sam Lynch, Micheal Stoopman, Richard Moore, Glen Taylor and Jon DeGuzman among them.Our host Darren made it deep into the tourney along with Mika Pietikanien, Darren lost a big pot to Micheal Stoopman when his pocket kings failed to hold up against AJs...Micheal made the most of his luck in that hand by keeping the pressure on at the final table as players were eliminated, Keith Butterworth found the worst time possible to go card dead and Keith McNaught lost a couple of key races with only a few places to go from our major prize.Heads up we came down to our two most agressive players at the final table in Jon Deguzman and Micheal Stoopman. Both players had an almost even chip count and we looked set for a long tough heads up battle...That didnt happen as first hand heads up with a flop of 10 8 10 we had a bet, reraise and call putting just over 50k in the pot...turn card was another 8 and a check from Jon DeGuzman saw Micheal push all in for about 125k more, Jon insta called and rolled over 10 3 off for top full house, Micheal winced as he flipped over J8 for 8's full of 10's...the river blanked and Jon now had 99% of the chips in play, two hands later it was all over.Jon Deguzman after a long spell from tourney poker was straight back into the winners circle and found himself with a Melbourne Champs main event and $550 6 handed event entry plus airfare and accomodation at Crown Promenade for May's Crown Casino Melbourne Poker Championships.Next lot of events I am organising are the WSOP package satellite series in NSW...3 of the events will be held just minutes south of the Qld/NSW border so i hope a few QPN players can make it down to take part....$30 for an all expenses paid shot at this years World Series of Poker main event will hopefully entice you to make the drive down.First event is next Sunday April 13th at the Pottsville Tavern in Overall Drive, about 20 minutes south of Tweed Heads. tourney starts at 2:30pm.Hope to see ya all soon,Blocker. www.offlinepokersatellites.blogspot.com
