Agree - $200 buy-in saves all the f'king around. Will probably have to be a two-day if it's a proper deepstack with a $10k prize.

Andray thankyou so much for giving me material for my next article.
I had no idea what I was going to write about... but this should do fine.
.
.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?
No need trying to bring Andray-aint no stopping him once he gets a little idea in his head.!
Good Luck.
I would have to agree that this tourney should be a practice for the Aussie Millions Main event so instead of this re buy, double re buy, add on, double add on BS .Why wouldn't you just make it a $210 deep stack 20k starting stack 30 min blind levels 2 day event. The same as the Aussie Millions LMAO that guy who said he doesn't like 2 day events is kidding isn't he doesn't he know that the Aussie Millions main event will run for like a week if he was lucky enough to make it all the way.
Any way I would attend your event and I know plenty of others that would attend if it wasn't a re buy. Truthfully everyone knows the quality of play lacks severely in re buys. Also no offense but i don't know you or your employees and therefore cannot trust that all re buys will be accounted for. this isn't to say that you are with holding the prize pool but more so to say ok we have 200 runners at $210 buy in therefore there is a prize pool of $39600 and a rake of 10% = $2400 . Therefore everyone is happy and satisfied that all of their money is in a prize pool at $12500 packages you would be able to give away 3 of these totaling $37500 and would distribute the remaining $2100 between 4th and 5th prob $1500 and $600.
I know that if you guaranteed 1 seat in a $210 buy in you would have people lining up at the door. And to achieve that you would only need 70 runners as you do the math $210 buy in - 10% rake = $198 x 70 = $13860
Think about it everyone and think does that sound like the perfect tourney.
Would it be too late to try change it.?
As for the rebuys and stuff,I use a program called poker tournament manager and it keeps track of rebuys, who bought in and how many,it displays the total prizepool and and keeps track of stats and other useful information.
210$ sounds good but im worried now might be too late. Also i will host my usual Freeroll Tourney this Thursday Night at Macarthur Tavern and i will be awarding 1 seat into the MaiN Event Satellite this SaTURDAY!And also i will do a 20$ rebuy game this Friday night and ech 200$ reached then 1 seat can awarded into the Sat Two Day event.Il log in tomorrow and see how much im bagged for trying to change from original idea...lol...but thankx alot man you made sense with that whole post and i appreciate it !!
Preregister your seat by text on 0450548332 or just turn up from 10:30 am on saturday for rego if you want to play the 210$ Mtt.I dont think it be too hard to get 70 runners(how many do u think u could have lining out the door?)IF 70 IS ALL we need then i think we can easily accomplish the Huge task of getting This satellite + many more to come off the ground!!

Also for the Deepstack a mate of mine said i should go 25/25,50/50 100/100 all the way up for the blinds..What do you think bout that???.Not too sure what to think but maybe could work for these type of Games!!
Low blind structures are always good as it allows the quality of play to continue right up to the final table. Sometimes you can play these tourneys for a long grueling day or 2 doing all the plays in the book. Then by the time u reach the final table The biggest stack has no more than 15 x the BB and it becomes a game of bingo. So to answer your question i think if the blinds went 25/25, 50/50, 100/100 and so on it definently wouldn't hurt the quality of play.
This tourney sounds like a joke. I for one could organise a home game satelite to the AM main event 30 mins prior to its start with a better structure.
Great idea Andray but timing could have been a bit better. I would focus either on aussie million 2010 or APPT Grand Final.APPT Being in sydney with a smaller buyin and less likelyhood of having to find accommodation would be my pick. having a weekly 10 or $20 buyin were every $220 gets a seat to an APPT Qualifier at $200+20. People can qualify everyweek and if they have already won a seat they get cash. You will get a lot more interest with a bigger range of people wanting to play and u will have a healthy number entered before it kicks off. You will only need 30 odd to cover one seat. Would be very easy to promote and im sure the bigger guys would buyin direct since it will be a very weak field.
So a $20 game = a 1 in 11 chance of qualifying for your
$200+20 game.
