Noo Bingo,
There are conflicting rules on whether to discard prior to flop betting or after flop betting, but before turn card. So our house rules will apply which will be explained by our Tournament Director Jymmi Briggs prior to the commencement of the tournament each week. Regards, Graham. |

I think it's quite important to make the discard after the flop betting. It allows players to gauge more info from their opponent's if they're conflicted in which cards to throw out. I'll use a hand I played as an example:
Me: Qs Qd X Mate: 7h 5h 4s Flop: Qh 5s 4h We both have pretty big hands, and by my aggression it was pretty obvious that I held a better hand than bottom two pair. My mate saw this so decided to muck his 4s and draw to a flush. If we would have discarded before the betting, he likely would've kept his two pair and thus be drawing pretty much dead. FTR, he hit the flush and I didn't fill up ![]() |

Our game will run as, using an example :
On the flop, the first to act will check or bet then discard. Other players acting in turn after each other will have the benefit of being able to assess the earlier players actions to help decide which card to fold. This seems the most popular format and brings into play the strategy mentioned by No Bingo. And for the Doc's question. It is a No Limit format for the first few weeks until players make the adaption to the game. This will be a permanent game. But eventually the plan is to play Pot Limit. We are giving a 10k stack with a 10k rebuy OR add on as from experience, new games with more cards in peoples hands tend to finish quickly until players learn the optimum strategy. |

I agree with you alittle, but I was thinking of the unfair advantage for the player who is acting 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Lets use your example.... Me: Qs Qd X Mate: 7h 5h 4s Flop: Qh 5s 4h If you and/or your friend were in 1st position, then bet and discard, then middle person called and discard but accidently flipped over the card, it ONLY gives a advantage to people acting after him/her. Why should the people who were 1st, 2nd etc have to not have the same advantage. We simply see the flop....everyone is to discard, then everyone acts. I thought it would be the best way to make it even for everyone on the table.

I have to say that I agree with No Bingle
.Discarding post flop will promote bigger hands, and bigger pots. It also puts the "Crazy" into Crazy Pineapple. Sure a card is going to be exposed here and there, but that is the exception rather than the rule. |
