Stacks were pretty short - 10k start and day 2 was a shove-a-thon. A couple of players said that 20k starting stacks would have been good to enable advanced post flop plays, etc, however the other concern in my opinion would have been the amount of time it would have taken, with staff telling me that this was not their usual hours - ie working overtime - so those wages have to be accountable also - I think definitley a time issue,if starting stacks were 20k - would have taken a lot longer to play.
Not sure on what APL have planned but usually are toughest freeroll to play - in brisbane anyway - Qualifying does seem to differ from time to time, however they should always have their satellites happening, and even if you dont qualify, you can buy into them if someone is selling their ticket that is.
Found the ANZPT Satellite Games at Jupiters way tougher than APL Poker Tour though.

Havent played much NPL to make direct comparison - NPL does nothing in Brisbane compared to APL (good opportunity for some more NPL franchises in Brisbane perhaps? Great business opportunity for someone that is that way inclined - so that is why I usually play APL, however will now be taking break till next year to mentally recharge (suffering mental burnout at moment and need massive break) after cashing in on APL Poker Tour and concentrating more on live money games in 2011.

The people in the HQ at APL must be shitting themselves. All the other organisations are gaining ground if not passing them !! This is simply because they have forgotten the players !! They now think only of ways to make more money from the Casinos and the average club player. No loyalty to the players that have stuck by them 4 years, personally i hope the go under !!

Gee up for sure BUT i actually agree even if he didnt mean it.

APL/NPL/UPT/any muthapharkin T is the breeding ground of new poker players in this country.

Its how people will discover the game, just like how i discovered the game.

Some will be fly by players
    others will be casual players
iothers will take it as a serious hobby and fail
    " " " " and make a tidy profit.

others will take it super serious and be fish.

    others break even

and a select few will become true players of d game.

Just like junior rugby league as the nursery to the NRL/ESL.
