New Poker Room In Coogee

Hi all,

Long time since ive been on here but i thought id let you all know of our new room in Coogee which is open Tuesday to Sunday.

As most of you know we have held the BIG Tuesday game for the past 3 years and considering its still the only bigger buy-in game outside the casino that has lasted i very pleased to say that it is still going strong. We were at Randwick Rugby Club for a while but in the end they wanted us to end our big game by 12am and that just could not happen. Here at Renatos we dont have to be out at anytime so the structures of our events are spot on!

So We have moved ourselves to RENATOS Restaurant, 235 Coogee Bay Road (Next Door to Coogee Bay Hotel)

Over the past few weeks numbers have been around the 25-30 mark and prize pools have been very decent, between $5500 and $7500 consistantly.

Details for BIG TUESDAY!

TUESDAY 7:30pm - $250 with dealers ($210 into pool, $25 Admin, $15 Dealers)
12K stack, 20min Blinds (including 600/1200 and 800/1600 and 2500/5000) NO REBUYS, 1 x $110 Add-On for 8K at break.

Sounds like a good game , but im more for the food ....

We have been dining at Renatos for years and love the food (especially the bugs penne and crab ravioli). The kids love the pizzas, chicken schnitzel and calamari. The service is good and it is a great place to take the family.


This restaurant was perfect, my wife enjoyed the irresistable taste of the penne bolognese and the serving was perfect for her appetite. For myself I ordered the chicken parmigiana and this too was brilliant. The friendly staff were very helpful, the two brothers who were at the restaurant at the time came and talked to us which was pleasing. The value for the amount of food you are given is also a bonus. I definitely recommend this restaurant for families due to the affordable prices.

Pizza was beautiful, the coffee was great, the service was good. Really had a wonderful experience overall. I'd definitely go back again.

You cant go anywhere these days without hearing about this game!!!

On a different note, this game last night was a complete freezeout with 25minute blinds and will be this way from here on in.
We had a field of 32 last night and next week we are expecting to hit the 40 mark. Just so we are all clear, this game is capped at 55 starters and will then be introducing reserves. In the coming weeks i imagine it will get to this point.

Yeah, I'm waiting for someone to move the suburb of Coogee to within a 5 minute walk of Central Station.
I've also got involved with other activities on Tuesday nights, so poker in general is a bit tough for me on that night.

That said, I'm running like god at the moment, and I keep hearing good things about the Chip Chop action @ Coogee,
so even if I can't grace the main Tuesday Freezout, chances are there will be something for me at other times.
