Mate of mine sold me a apl pro open ticket for $60 and told me it was worth $110 as thats what was deducted from his prizemoney
rocked up to rooty hill rsl and played against well over 450 players
ran pretty deep and finished in the 90s and hung around to see how it all went at the end
prizepool was announced

what tha!!!!
gst already taken out of a $110 ticket should be a pot of $45000

They would have also charged the Club $8-$10 for every person who played in the event as well as taking the prize-money rake.

Good luck to them. Its a business not a charity. Guess if you don't like the rake, don't play.

They also give out other prizes on the day and the total prizepool balance is used to pay for those I think. Thats how it was back in 07, when I asked the same question. They did give some figures and it all added up, but yeah it still sucks.
