I apologise to Mike for the thread title. "Calling out" sounds a bit aggressive, "Calling on" would have been more appropriate. And to Norman, not sure why you're having a go mate, I felt there was a legitimate issue and I sought clarification (nb: I was not the aggrieved player, but I definitely heard about it). I tried to present some solutions, they may or may not be valid, they may even be stupid as you suggest.

I think the point stands that a player may register for two events and unknowingly be barred from playing the 2nd one after the tournament has actually begun once TDs realise that said player is also playing Day 2 of the first event. The player has done nothing wrong, the player didn't even know about the rule.

For those of you that are well-read, the rule should probably be called the "Men the Master rule"!
