Default Pros and Cons of this suggested change to multi day events

After playing the deep stack main event last night until 2:30am, and realising I dont come back until Sunday where its possible to play for 12 hours, then return in the middle of a week day to play a final table I began to wonder if it could be done better

The usual schedule for Crown main events is 3 days 1s on Thursday night, Friday midday and Saturday midday. Day 2 commences on Sunday and a FT completed on Monday. As mentioned above, the Thursday goes well past 2am, and I heard countless times throughout the night people saying they didnt play tonight because of the finishing time

The Friday 12pm start time loses a lot of players because it starts during the middle of a working day. The Saturday is a pretty perfect day for a day 1 though

What do you think of the below set up?

    Day 1a - Thursday 7:10pm
Day 1b- Friday 7:10pm (Possible 8:10pm if you want to get an extra hour of players)

Day 1's would play 5 hours of poker. The amount of levels would depend on how long they are, but lets say they are 40min as they are now with the deep stack series. This would be 7 levels plus two 10min breaks, being 5:10 hours. So finishing at 12:20am, a much more suitable time

Players return Saturday for Day 2 at 1pm, where they play 12 levels (until roughly 9:30)

The remaining field returns Day 3 at 1pm to play down to a winner.

    Pros:
The added Friday business. Fridays are a huge night for Crown with lots and lots of non reg players filling the tables. I would think a decent number of these players would be enticed by the tournament to add numbers. Also, it would bring tournament players into the room, which usually wouldnt be there on Friday. After these players bust, they play cash games

You arent finishing so late. I probably wont player another Thursday night considering how I feel today after getting so little sleep, I already know other people have learnt this lesson

You bring more people into the casino on Saturday. With shorter playing hours, more short stacks are going to be returning saturday to bust, these players wont play for 1 hour then go home, most of them will go on and play some cash/black jack etc.

Better for the players. More suitable timeframes for the working class man which make up an extremely large % of their market. Knowing the tournament will be completed on the Sunday is reassuring to workers

Structures. It can allow for a few extra levels for more play. (C'mon Crown whats an extra hour to your bottom line, you can afford it)

    Cons
Losing the Saturday players. Saturday is always the biggst day1, its the most convenient for everybody for obvious reasons (although its another testimant to Crown being filled with workers). How many players would you lose by not playing on a saturday? Hard to say. Most will just play Thurs/Friday, others wont bother.

Less repecharge days. We know Crown loves rake, and we love players. So missing the third day is 1 less chance for a player to fire 3 bullets into the tournament. This is not a factor for non repecharge/accumulater events

All in all I think the biggest thing here is, it brings in more people on Saturday whos tournament will end. This will create larger cash game base for the drop boxes, which are Crowns major concern. Its a win win for both players and Crown imo.

I would rather see start times of 4 pm, but the ability to buy in with a fresh stack for the first 4 hours. Or 5pm/3 hours. Something like that, where the days finish at midnight or earlier and we aren't penalised for missing the first few hours.

I can't see them ever dropping Saturday as a day one. From Crown's perspective it is the Day 1 influx of punters that makes the tournaments worthwhile.

I really don't think holding the FT of a major on Monday matters. People who are so important that they can't skip a few hours of work, one time, for $100k, can die.

So long as the final table/itm is reached before the weekend finishes I think it's fine. If people can't skip work when they're super deep in a live tournament they probably shouldnt be playing poker in the first place. Most people can take a sick day for a one time shot at 100k or w/e.

    I like this suggestion.

Playing till 2:30am last night (and in previous series as well), I feel like absolute crap today. I know I will probably not do another Thursday night.
