This June, players will have the opportunity to share in over $50,000 in prize money as the Crown Poker Room plays hosts to the country’s biggest ever guaranteed Poker event. At only $50 to enter, this event carries the biggest guaranteed Prizepool ratio in Australian Poker history.

The Crown Poker Room will come to life as players vie for a shot at Poker immortality and attempt to turn a 2 figure investment into a 5 figure return. Players will literally be able to turn the price of a cab fare into the price of a car!

Commencing on Thursday 9 of June at 7:10pm, the event carries 5x Day 1 Flights, culminating in Day 2 on Sunday 12 of June. Players can play on Thursday night, Friday, Friday night, Saturday or Saturday night and try to qualify for Day 2 on Sunday.

Carrying Crown’s unique “Repechage Accumulator” format, players will be able to play any combination of Day 1 Flights in order to progress to Day 2. Get knocked out of Flight 1? No problem, you can re-enter by any or all of the other Day 1 Flights. Make it through Flight 1? No problem, you can enter any or all other Day 1 Flights and try to accumulate more chips for Day 2!

As if the value in this tournament was not enough, players will have the option to purchase a single add-on up until the first break and receive DOUBLE their start bank! Players start with 5k in chips, and for only $50 can purchase an additional one-off 10k in chips. Blinds start at 25/50 and the levels are 30 mins long.

Sounds like a circus.
You can play all five day1's,
If you get through day 1, you can keep playing more day1's in order to accumulate more chips for day 2.
You could play all five day 1's.
Day two time comes and you can pay again to double your day one stake.

I don't think this is something to introduce new people to poker, it will have regular players playing every day1 and then doubling up with the add on.
Those new poker players who try it out and make it to day 2 with say $75,000 chips are then faced against pros with 1,00,000.00 in chips.

Just sounds like a bit of a circus and there is no way of telling how many chips you want to go into day two with. Day 1a runners will think their safe, go back to work and then get to day 2 and see they are shorter than short stack.

The winner will probably find that he played four to five day 1's and then a day 2 and then a day 3 final table. Sounds like around 60 hours of poker for a chance to win a first prize of 20k?

Where he could have played for 8 hours in a 330 tourney to win $16k

As an in between'er, it would be fun. As a serious tournament, not so much.

Must say I am jealous, I wish star city would do some out of the blue tournament rather than ONLY the main circuit.

God star city sucks. It seriously getting worse every day. The place looks like a supervisors social club that turns into a debating chamber for them.

I don't think there is a single sign anymore telling people that poker is upstairs, nothing noticeable anyway. And here I find myself debating a new tournament at crown. My god, I must be bored. You guys are so lucky to have so many tournaments that we can even give opinions on, rather than none at all.

pls............ crowns biggest tourney is a $125 sunday nlhe,they struggle to get 100 players $80 terminator {they get 30 players] etc..........why no Weds night like star city??

I think it'll be fun, but it'll be interesting to see what it's going to be raked at. They'll need like 1400ish BIs (including rebuys) if raked at $15 which over 5 days would be doable.

I'll probably play 2 or 3 flights.

Would be cheaper than me throwing a few hundo away only

I'm with you on this mate, the tournaments at Star City could really do with a shake up, with a couple of lower buy-in events to attract more players as well as different ideas.

Also does anyone know who's running the show there since Wicks has left?
