Deep Stack Poker Tournament is back.

    $500 Entry Fee + $50 Administration.
Main Event seats are limited to 80.
Players start with $20,000 in Tournament Chips and play 25 minute levels.

Pity there was only one satellite to this tourney.

I just called Jupiter's and got put through to the Poker area. They were just as confused and were not sure where the $32,000 came from. Unless it's 80 x 400+50, I think the total prize pool should be $40,000. You wouldn't think $8,000 is taken out from the pool for some other purpose, like a series final or something. Taking out 20% would be way too much.

Yeah I know it's just a typo but you would think casino's would take special care to get their numbers right prior to publishing, it's amazing how often the wrong info is put out there.

Just like the other typo that they haven't bothered correcting for over 4 months about the deepstack satts being $110+15 when in fact they are $110+20 doesn't sound like much but its a large difference in rake as a %.

This tournament is not guaranteed at all (unfortunately). All their advertising has an * next to any monetary figure with an attached disclaimer. This has always been the case for this event to my knowledge.

I am currently on the Gold Coast (with a few mates) specifically to play this event for my second time. The last time I played this event was in a field of arounf 75 runners which at the time was down from about 120-130. One of the locals today told me that last month there were under 50 runners. Needless to say that me and my crew are somewhat shattered right now. I guess we should have done more homework!

I have always been a huge fan of this room but the place is going downhill fast. There is almost zero action here through the day or night. I haven't seen more than 4 tables in operation since I arrived. The room only has 8 tables now (down from 16 if I recall) and is about to be moved back to the main gaming floor. This is a positive move I think as 'passer by' players are definatley needed.

    My advice to the guys up here would be as follows;

    1) Introduce some lower buy-in cash games. The lowest game they get up is 2/4 with 100-300 buy in. This is way too big of a jump up in class for the plethera of freeroll pub poker players they have in the same post code. Everyone in this town is broke from stacking off $300 at a time.

    2) Introduce a low buy in nightly tournament. Something like a $30 + $5 turbo with a $1,000 guarantee at say 7pm. They will probably do their ass on the tournament slightly but they will hopefully make something back in increased traffic on the cash tables. Give the local pub poker players a cash entry option each night.

    3) EVERYONE in the room is complaining about the lack of available information on ANYTHING. There is a big notice board in the room with nothing in it except for AM satellite info.

This is a certainly going to be a plus but I do not think the new location is as good as the old one on the main floor.

Another plus should be longer hours.

Going to hurt ANZPT and WPPT but as not enough tables. Back to the original Qld ANZPT format. Good for Treasury I suppose.
    After Monday and Tuesday...
    even the calendar says

Yes there is an * next to the numbers but you don't expect to see $32K pool stated when there is actually $40K in the pool, but anyway they have fixed the typo in some places but not in others, I think the numbers will be way down nobody knew this was on until last week and when they put the info on their website the 1st satt had already happened...I heard they were going to use the downstairs room for large tournaments but I don't know if this is right.... does anyone know if Martin McC... is still running the show I haven't seen him post anything for quite a while and thought maybe the lack of organisation has something to do with him maybe not running it anymore ? if so that's sad he looked like he had a bit of an idea about poker promotions.

What's so hard to understand, they are guaranteeing 64 runners (32k) capped @ 80
