Default Marketing Role at PokerStars

Hi all,With the huge growth we have experienced over the last year, I am looking to expand my Asia Pacific marketing team. There will be a few roles available, but for the moment I am looking for an Assistant Manager: Assistant Marketing Manager, Asia Pacifica Responsibilities: Marketing - Manage day to day running of marketing campaigns across Asia Pacific region, including online, TV, print and events.- Monitor and evaluate campaign effectivenessPlayer Liaison -Organization and administration of PokerStars sponsored players and PokerStars online qualifiers in Asia Pacific. Manage diary, schedule media commitments, arrange logistics for flights and accommodation and poker buy-ins.PR- Day to day management of PokerStars PR campaigns. - Manage relationship with our PR companies, including monitoring and reacting to Poker Press. Assist Asia Pacific Marketing Director- Aid the Asia Pacific Marketing Director in his day to day operations, including support at poker events, domestic and international. The candidate must be very flexible. This is absolutely not a 9-5 job. Much of the work we do is in conjunction with the UK office and there will be plenty of evening work. That said, the role is also flexible, allowing a mix of working from home as well as the office(Chatswood, Sydney). This role is about results, not hours spent at a desk.I may also need support at poker events across Asia so potentially there will be travel involved. The candidate must have advertising and PR experience, preferably in either an egaming, online or other cutting edge field. A marketing degree is preferable.I am looking for someone technically capable, comfortable with designing and using Excel spreadsheets etc for monitoring and evaluating campaign effectiveness. An ability to build and upload webpages would be an advantage.Though e-gaming experience is not necessary, an understanding of the fundamentals of poker and a passion for the game probably is.This is an exceptional opportunity to join the worlds largest and most dynamic online poker company. PokerStars offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. If you are interested in the role, please forward your CV and a covering letter to SarneAPA @ Gmail.com (please use this email not my PokerStars email account).Kind regardsSarne LightmanDirector of Asia Pacific MarketingPokerStars.com

Default Marketing Role at PokerStars

Hello Sarne. It's been a while since we spoke.Anyhow,to the business at hand. The position that pokerstars is offering as your assistant would be ideal for me.As far as experience goes,as you know,I run a TABCORP Agency in Sydney and have done so for nearly 8 years, having worked for other Agents prior for another 6 years.Regarding poker,I have been playing a lot of B&M poker at Star City and at a number of licenced venues. And lately, have started playing newer games like 2-7 lowball and Razz.Unlike most poker players who know only holdem,I do play the other varieties.Flexibility of course is not a problem for me.The problem may lie in the fact that I don't have a marketing degree.Mind you,a large part of being a TABCORP Agent is to market and promote the Agency so that new people can experience the thrill of the gallops, trots, greyhounds, and sports betting. An example of my marketing prowess came during the recent Soccer World Cup,where I decided to open 24 hrs throughout the tournament. It proved to be extremely successful as my Agency was ranked No:3 in NSW during the 31 days of the tournament. The question remains: Is it enough to get me this role as your assistant?Hope to hear from you soon.Sam.

I think the fact you have tried to sell yourself through a poker forum is enough of a reason not to give you the job.

** If you are interested in the role, please forward your CV and a covering letter to SarneAPA @ Gmail.com (please use this email not my PokerStars email account).** Can you not read Death Stare? First part of going for a job would be to read what is asked of you and i am sure you would not give someone a job if they were selling themselves on a friggin forum or maybe you would.and getting pissed off that easy would also be more of a reason not to give you the job good luck at Tabcorp

Blimey you lot are hard markers. The bloke didn't exactly threaten to gang-bang Mother Theresa, or shoot Doyle Brunson or burn down the bloody Opera House - he only applied for a bleeding job!
