SHAME SHAME SHAME pokerdome and the australian online poker champs.I am a jewller and these watches are made by a bogus manufacturer and certainly are not valued @$2500 they would be lucky to be worth $100.These watches have been known as fraudulent in the uk for many years and are not swiss made they are made in china yes they look expensive but a cheap peices of shit.I was at a local card room in sydney over the weekend and saw these guys trying to sell watches. After my $20 sit n go i went over to a display cabinet and to my astonishment there were 2 eugen renard watches sitting there being offered as a prize for the online champs i could not conceal my laughter anyway about 1 minute after looking and shaking my head i heard this guy yell from a table hey you want 1 $400 i just turned around laughed at him and moved on.I am from the uk and this skam had been happening for years over there as this is where the skam originated. They even set up a website which has not been updated since 2004 and the watches have remained the same for 4 years.link below now does this site look like a world wide company who sells watches at $2500??? to do not buy theses watches and pokerdome should scrap them from being prize and replace them with a tag or omega etcccc or somthing that is worth $2500 a jag watch is better quality than a eugen renard.articleLinkshttp://www.wessexscene.co.uk/article.php?sid=2059http://www.eugene-renard.com/ conman has been selling wristwatches made by a bogus manufacturer to University students in the Portswood area. The man, who is in his late twenties, approaches people in his car and persuades them to buy Eugene Renard watches. John Stockley, a third-year History student, was stung for £160. He told the Wessex Scene: "He offered me a seat in his car and charmed the money out of me. It was the professionalism of the catalogue, which showed the various watches made by Eugene Renard, that did it for me. "I’m not normally the kind of guy who would be conned by this but in the end I was so convinced by his smooth talking and the seriously good looking watch that I let him drive me to a cash machine where I withdrew and paid £160 for a watch he said was worth £900." The man dresses in a smart suit and has been seen driving a number of new cars including a black Audi A4 and a navy blue Audi S3. He told John he had brought the watches to a function at the De Vere Grand Harbour hotel to be given out as gifts to Eugene Renard’s clients ,and that the ones he was selling were surplus stock. The watches are sold in a black lacquered box with the manufacturer’s name embossed on the top. The boxes even contain a warranty and a mini tool kit. When John got out of the car he figured something was not quite right so he checked the website the man had told him to look at: "It looked genuine enough and when I checked the back of the watch to match the serial number with the one in the catalogue they were identical, but the watch felt inexpensive and substandard," he said. His suspicions aroused, John phoned the De Vere who told him there had been no such function and none was planned for the near future. Another student who was also persuaded to buy a watch from the conman was given a guided tour of various jewellers in Southampton to check their authenticity. None of the jewellers or watch specialists had ever heard of the name Eugene Renard.
