I could go on an on about this one.1. Because you discovered the industry is so f#$#ed up.2. All the best poker players owe ridiculous amounts of money that they will never pay back.3. You wouldn't want other players as friends, they just talk bullshit. They are out for themselves, not you.4. You wouldn't want organisers as friends, they will ruin your life to make a buck too.5. You will probably never beat the rake.6. It costs ridiculous amounts of money to do the tournament circuit to stay in motels and travel expenses.6. There's a big wonderful world out there without playing poker. But if you don't believe me, then stay the full course like I did. I still gamble though, it's what i did my whole life and I have nothing else that interests me. But my advice is get out of here.Norman will come soon too I expect and tell you how there's no free lunch.

Well Spikey, having read your post it sounds like you'd agree there are no free lunches out there.None that you've found anyway. However, it seems you could eliminate the majority of your complaints by playing only on-line

Well sometimes you can get a free lunch, but you have to be very careful. The Adelaide Casino once had a deal where you payed $300 for a room at the Hyatt, which 15 years ago was obviously a pretty high price to pay for a room; but they then gave you $300 in chips for nothing to bet with at the casino. To qualify for the deal, you had to bet the $300 and get a card signed.I used to play the video keno machines with the jackpots, but there were some that played roulette, put $150 on red, $150 on black, and $10 on the zero; so all they could lose at most was $10; and if zero came up they made a profit of $50, not to mention the free room. This deal went on for 6 months and one well known player, who doesn't post here any more because Bugsy keeps asking him questions about dealer's parties, stayed at the Hyatt for the whole 6 months. There he ran private poker games in direct competition with the casino. There are chinese whispers too that those games might have been crooked too, but we won't go down that path.Well I had young kids at the time and was expected to stay home, but I did manage to get a free room at the hyatt 4 or 5 times. The deal was real so on odd occassions you can get a good deal.

Nice one,I think now they'd smarten up quickly and put restrictions on the betting opposite even chances etc, 6 months was a great run, for those in in the right place at the right time
