A lot of the tactic he covers in the NL section are under the assumption that you have the biggest stack at the table and you have the ability to put people to the tough all-in decision. For most players this advice doesn't really cut it because most of the time we aren't the monster at the table.Having said that there is still a lot of advice that can be used and taken on board.

Ronnie,So you suggest I don't worry about Super System 2 at all - I thought it was almost just an update of 1 so I would be better off jumping straight to number 2. Also I heard it has a new Online section which would be very handy for me although I can't help but wonder how much experience Brunson would have online.

KKMan, the online section in SuperSystem2 is worth a small fortune. It lets you know all about Doyle's poker room - and gives you brilliant explanations why online poker is better than B&M poker. For example, you don't have to get dressed up to play.Wonderful Doyle. Thank you.yoyo

Doyle Brunson is a genius. he knew damn well any book with his name on it would make big dollars for him regardless of what is written in it. I'm going to buy a copy, read the first 10 pages, get bored and give it pride of place on my shelf next to Sklanksy and his theories on reverse-implied-anectodal-space-time-contiuum-pot odds.

I have SS1 and found it helpful and interesting as a new player. Only thing I'm probably interested in is Jen Harmans stuff on Limit in SS2. Anyone feel like commenting or sending me a copy of that part?? !!!Tam

Hi YoYomy name is josh i am am a law student on the south -side (just get my intro out of the way this is my first post). i really want to read super system, as i think that you guys are being a bit harsh on a legend of the game. while it may not be applicable to some of our current situations, i intend to be in that situation one day, and therefore think it would be beneficial to read.surely there are some diamonds in the 600 pages of sand.Josh

Hey Josh, are you studying law at UQ or QUT? I will be doing undergrad law at UQ next year - did two weeks of Juris Doctor Masters this year but was a little too intense for my likings.Mate, I think SS1 is ok for basic poker advice (what I've heard) but SS2 is pretty much a complete joke IMO. I haven't read the whole thing (gave up after 200 odd pages).If you come down to one of the local games or the next Russian club tourney, let me know in advance and I'll bring it and lend it to ya. i am actually out at the best law school in queensland, second best in the country, Griffith. i just started second year dualing law with advanced maths (all i really want is to be better at probability ). i dont know how much help the book will be after reading sklansky among others, but i will give it a go as i really think that you cannot read too much poker literature.i think i will come to the next russian club tourny. i put my name down for the first one but had to cancel.
