I was initially sceptical of the claims of wild odds and unbelieivable hands until the following happened to me...I logged on to my normal game of 2c/4c NL ring game (on an unnamed site to prevent law suits). Three of us and I'm in the BB. On my very first hand I get dealt 2h
Js. Nothing too strange at this stage. To cut a long story short, it turns out that UTG had Ac 10h and Small Bind had 3c 4c. Nothing hits and Ace high scoops the pot of $1.04.Then it hit me - what are the odds of that happening? A few calculations later I work out that the odds of me being dealt 2h and
Js are 1326:1 , the odds of the next player getting his hand are 1225:1 and the BB getting his cards 1128:1. Now the odds of those three hands being dealt in that order are a staggering 1.8 Billion:1 (and this is without even considering the chances of me not getting paired by the river!)The odds are just too ridiculous to suggest that this was dealt by a 'random' shuffle.Quod Erat DemonstrandumBricks and Mortar for me from now on!
