If ultimate bet isn't the worst interface out there I'll eat my hat, pathetic in this day and age.Carbon Poker is by far the best, too bad its based in OZ and I can't play for cash there.

Gaz,I'll slightly expand my previous post. The Pacific Poker software is - excessively clunky- has NO easy way to save hand histories- the software has flickering problems- the lobby is excessively confusing- the graphics are ugly- it is extremely dependent on the actual speed of the computer. I shouldn't need the latest supercomputer to run a simple card game.Developing robust error-free quality software is frequently overlooked factor in many companies, especially those that that do not make money directly from the actual sale of the software. Also, there is little point in posting automated software updates or patches on the poker client, if the software base itself is poorly written to start with. Problems of bad software development have a tendency to compound if the root of the problem is not addressed.Rather than devising "promotion" after "promotion" after "promotion" (eg. Shane Warne, WPC) that may show short-run benefits, a complete rewrite of the software from an experienced out-sourced team is necessary. This is completely necessary for the benefit of 888/pacific in long-run - and to keep the players from playing elsewhere. I also suggest that your team does not completely rule out the possibility of buying existing clients and modify it for 888.com use.As a side note, I would like to also mention that I think that 888/pacific does not encrypt their passwords in the central database. A representative of Pacific poker has in the past sent me my ACTUAL password (which I forgot) in alphanumeric form. This is an insecure practice. All other sites (banking, webmail, etc) encrypt this information.Summary, rewriting the software should be 888/pacific's Number 1 priority.

also the sound effects need a major overhaul, it sounds like 100 hands scratching over a blackboard sometimes. I agree with yoyo though the speed of the old pacific compared with stars/ftp was a mile away on the same internet connection. So my main issues:1. Sound/Graphics2. Tournament Notifications3. better sized tournament listings in the lobby, the tournament name etc starts off too small and if you expand it enough to read whats going on, you lose buyin info, etc. having to expand/cpntract constantly is time wasting and annoying.

Gaz, here is a list of problems I have encountered in the last few hours .1) the chip colours ( other than $1 and $5) do not contrast against thge table colour making it hard to spot reraises2) the bet slide is almost totally unworkable to make small bets when you have a large chipstack. to try and bet $70 when you have $1 500 chipstack is close to impossible. the first attempt will probably get a bet of 190 and you will time out trying to lower the bet. If you are multitabling you do not have barely enough time to type in bets manually . this morning i managed to time out with two monster hands because i was trying to make a small raise3)main lobby minimisingevery time i open a tournament lobby the main loibby minimises and i have to search the task bar for it. i normally have about 40 items in mytask bar so it is very time consuming and annoying4) tourney timesA satellite to a tournament needs to have a link to that tournament or tell in how many hours that tournament is . players in times zones like australia are not going to play a satellite if they are going to have to search the lobby for the target tournament and then try and work out when it is on . usually they cater to US or euro time zones and will be crap times in australia. If an australian player could see the target tournament was on in 90 minutes he/she would be much more likely to playP.S. I just discovered 888/pacific has the option to convert all times to local time. an awesome time saver4) no 4 colour deckmaybe it is there but I cannot find it5) tournaments not opening automatically when you are paid and registeredthis is just an outright disgrace, no player should lose their money because they dont know a tournament has started and the software doesnt always tell them6) players chip balance disappearing every time they call bet or raiseI'll no doubt be able to add to this list as the morning progresses

Good summarization Bugsy. The betting interface is a nightmare, can't tell you how many times Ive been mucked trying to fine tune a bet. I like the softness of the games there a lot but the software is making me consider going elsewhere. FYI, there IS a 4 color option under "settings" then graphics

i may be doing it wrong, but the hand history function seems very poor to me. how do i look back and follow the exact action that was taken through the whole hand?and i agree that the graphics and layout is very ugly. i know you prob dont want the same 2D layout as other pokersites, but the current look of the table is quite horrible IMO.

I have discovered that there is an option to use the "classic" layout for the tables, this layout seems far superior to the 3D view that is the default view
