Yeah the software can tilt you with all the animations and sounds effects and hands per hour which can rivial a live table! That said no serious players play there so it has become the new party poker!

There's nothing more fulfilling than taking the tilters money that still dont realise the old version of pacific is so much better. If youre using the new version of Pacific i feel sorry for you.

"No serious player plays there."Lol. Which means.....? I play against some of the weakest players online on PKR, and believe I have a greater edge than on any other site online. Personally I am delighted to be surrounded by recreational players who are happy to'spend money' to enjoy themselves.Plus I am even more delighted to hear so-called 'serious' players scorn the opportunity to make more money per hour than ever before. Fine by me...Oh, and Pacific is maybe the worst site out there. I imagine there is very scant poker knowledge in their team. eg. I move in for $100, covering my opponent by $20. I lose the pot when he calls. I have $20 returned to me, yet I am given a 'congratulations!!!!' for winning a pot. Yea. Quality programming. The WPC was a complete farce (not that I'm resenting the massive overlay), and their customer support is ****in awful. Mind you, their players play bad, so what can you do. Don;t try and persuade me that Pacific's software is better than PKR tho, lol. At least PKR's is glossy anough to attract recreational players who aren;t playing anywhere else.

I gotta agree with the last post here. The first posters are insane and sound like the guys who say they are 'sick of playing against bad players that suck out on them' lol.PKR is one of the softest sites around and I find it quite easy to make a killing in their cash games (btw the hph is only about 10% slower and multi tabling isn't so bad when you get used to it).The software is quite gimmicky, but it is also good fun and to be honest I'm here to make $s... not to have simple functional software full of moderately good players who chip away at my edge.I've been on PKR for 12 months and I have never had a losing month there, so I spend most of my time there now.The first few posts here don't make any sense to me. How can you compare a joke site like pacific to a gimmicky one with fields that are just as soft (if not softer) and a visually pleasing interface.Free money anyone? No thanks, I don't like the look of it... NUTTERS lol

Dear Bugsy,I must take exception to your accusation that PKR is 'the worst' software. Quite the contrary, its most likely the best software by a huge margin. The technology and sophistication involved in creating PKR was far in excess of any other poker room. But you should accept that the design goals were different. PKR was designed for the 'mass market' player, not the semi-pro.We made PKR to be as realistic as possible. Instead of ripping off partypoker or any of the other flat 2d poker rooms, we took our inspiration from real life poker, as played in a card room or at your friend's house. In fact, when i came up with the idea, a few years ago - i was mostly watching WSOP and WPT shows and being highly disappointed that my online poker experience on Party and Stars wasnt as fun as those tv shows made poker out to be.In PKR, just like in real-life... your hole cards are dealt face down. And just like in real life, when you choose to look at your hole cards is up to you. Of course, everyone else will see that you looked at the moment you look. And if you feel the need to look again - perhaps to see if you hit your flush, people will see that too. This is part of making poker realistic.. because having to look at your hole cards - or re-look at them - or feign having to look at them, is one of the many pieces of information at your disposal, as a poker player.PKR's philosophy was in making the most enjoyable and realistic poker room available online. We're not trying to have the most hands per hour or the most multi-tables. We'll leave that for the big boyds who are serving the semi-pro and pro markets. Our goal at PKR is to make poker fun, and we think we've gone further than anyone else at achieving that. And we continue to strive for new and better ways of increasing the enjoyability, replayability and realism. The fact that many of PKR's players choose to play poker as an entertainment and leisure activity (albeit, still playing for real money), rather than as a way to earn a living, is probably true for most of our players. It certainly is for me.And if, as you rightly say, you are looking to play against people who arent taking it as seriously as you - heck, then maybe you might do well. But you're sure gonna have to play tight to beat such loose players. If youre used to people like on Stars folding a drawing hand when you put in a fat raise, then you better play different on PKR, cos you'll get called more often than not.Online Poker isnt always about how many hands you can shoot through in an hour, or how many tables you can have open at once. Many people actually like the play poker for the pure enjoyment. We would argue that MOST people want to play poker for fun. In the 80's it was trivial pursuit or Monopoly. Nowadays, people socialise while playing poker. Only a minority of all poker players play poker to make a living. There are many other ways that PKR is more realistic. Like being able to fold and show your cards. Or just to show ONE card (an Ace, for instance and not show your low kicker)... not to mention, ways of ribbing or taunting your opponents (just like in real life).. perhaps to try and put them on tilt or sway them into making a duff decision they wouldn't otherwise have made. Just like in real life. And our hands per hour is significasntly faster than a live table. We typically have between 40-60 hands per hour, per table. And you can run 4 tables at the same time. Only one of them is in 3d, and the other 4 can be played in mini 2d windows - just like you're used to.I think youre doing us a disservice. I hope you'll try PKR again and see what an extended play is like. Let me know what you think after a few days play. Im curious. All the best,-- Jez.

Nice reply, but there is one major flaw in your theory about the looking at the hole cards. When you multitable you don't need to do this. This surely creates an unfair advantage and you should be able to choose to have your cards always exposed to you like someone who multitables. Also i would replace the word "best" with "technically advanced". It was essentially an upgrade on True pokers inital efforts into the 3d enviroment. Technically advanced doesn't always equal best! (not saying your software is terrible, but certainly not in my top 3).One big issue i have with the slower handrate is you also have one of the worst tournament structures online and basically it ends up everyone shortstacked pretty quick which is disappointing especially when your seeing so few hands per level. It would be nice to have an option to hide avatars like ongame but that might go against your "core values".
