Hello All,

There has been an amendment made to this Sunday Oct 26 Qualifying Round 10.
We have changed the buyin to a $115 w/ $100 rebuys/single addon instead of the original $270 freezeout.
Additional bonus tournaments have now been added to the qualifying rounds for the Western Classic Poker Championships. These are as follows :-

Wed 29 Oct 6.30pm
$60 Buyin + $50 Rebuys/Single Addon No Limit Holdem qualifier
Rebuys are unlimited for the first three levels.

Sun 2 Nov 12.30pm
$115 Buyin No Limit Holdem qualifier

We are also conducting "Commission Free" SITNGO's qualifiers for the $2500 Western Classic.
The buyins will be either $250 (1 table - 1 qualifier) or $500 (1 table - 1st and 2nd qualify).
Starting stacks are 4K with 10 minute blind levels.
At least one table will be allocated for these SITNGO's at all times.(dependant upon staff availability)

For further information please contact me on 0421 579 552 or post a message here.

Best of luck on the felt.

Hi Zemmer,

Sorry for the lack of updates, as you can imagine it has been fairly hectic as we gear up in the last two weeks for the Western Classic.

Currently we have approx 70 entrants for the Main Event and the prize pool as it stands at the moment exceeds $160,000.

We still have three satellites (of which two are rebuy events) to conduct plus the daily commission free SITNGO qualifiers to bolster numbers.

Direct buyins are also starting to filter through as we near the date, and i envisage that the final numbers will be around the 130 mark. This will give us an approx $300K prizepool which makes the guaranteed $100K first prize pretty accurate from a tournament prize payout structure.

Seating for Day1B (Friday) may soon be capped due to its current preference as a playing date, and organisationally to even up player numbers for each DAY1, so the earlier you register, the more options you have.

Accommodation discounts are still available onsite at the Holiday Inn, please quote "Western Classic" when booking.

If anyone requires further information regarding the Western Classic Poker Championships feel free to call me on 0421 579 552.

Best of luck on the felt.

Gday Bear,

Just wondering, what will be the playing hours each day? Trying to calculate whether I might be able to fit in ME into schedule... yay for more deadmoney in the pool!

cheers
Max

Was good to meet you last night Bear. Very filthy with my self with how I spewed off my chips at the end there so close to winning another seat. Understand why you made the ruling you did re: chip count, it was my fault in that I should have asked for an exact chip count. I thought the guy only had 7k behind and didn't see the gold chip when i did a mental count of his chips (I didnt even realise the gold chips had come into play either!) . I would never have shoved on him in that spot had I known his exact chip count as he was the 3rd big stack at the table and at the time I was the biggest . Went from table chip leader to 5k to out . Glad it happened last night and not in the ME.

Mental note to self - ASK for chip count in the Main Event .

True, 90 minutes should be more than ample in terms of how much time I'd have to invest to be a part of the main event, but if I wanted to lose ~$80 a hand, I could just do so playing $50NL in the comfort of my own home!

Logisitically, it's just too tough and especially as I'll have to spend part of next weekend in Margaret River, I don't think I'll be able to play the ME, so the $330NLHE and maybe the PLOL will be the extent of my donating to the prize pools.

Shame you guys won't be able to make it over (or are you?) as Marie and I were looking forward to playing the role of host, but maybe next year!

Hello All,

Just a quick update on Western Classic numbers so far.

We had a full house on Wednesday night for the $115 No Limit Holdem rebuy qualifier with 100 entrants and 131 rebuys enabling 9 seats to the Main Event.

Sunday 16th Nov is the last chance official tournament satellite, a $270 No Limit Holdem freezeout qualifier starting at 12.30pm.
1 in 10 will win a seat to the Main Event.

We have approx 95 entrants at this point in time (+$215,000 prizepool) and are still expecting a final total of around 130 which will give us a $300,000 prizepool.

$250 SITNGO qualifiers (Commission free) with $4k start stacks and 10 minute blind levels are available on demand from now until the Main Event.

Accommodation is still available from the Holiday Inn oniste at the discounted rate of $205 Sun-Thurs and $235 Fri-Sat.
Please quote "Western Classic Poker Championships" when booking.

There is every likelihood a high stakes No Limit Holdem and or Pot Limit Omaha cash game ($25/$25 or $25/$50) will be available every night of the championships.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best of luck on the felt.
