Hello to all poker players,
Burswood Poker welcomes the opportunity to join with Pokernetwork to communicate directly with poker players on a national level regarding upcoming poker tournaments, game size and game availability, accommodation packages and other poker related queries. Our poker website Burswood Poker will contain all dates and times of tournaments for the 2008 Western Classic Poker Championships. To answer the above questions, yes we are guaranteeing a $100,000 first prize but we have been conservative with the total prize pool which should exceed $200,000. The $2500 ($2300 + $200) NL Holdem MAIN EVENT has a maximum registrations of 200 which if filled will create a substantially larger prize pool (approx $460,000). Blind structures for the main event will be posted over the next 48 hours but in short will feature two Day 1 flights, a 15K start stack, 1 hour blind levels with Antes introduced on Level 4. The clock will be wound back one level at the start of Day 2 where play will continue until 10 players are left. Day 3 is the final table and the clock will be wound back two levels prior to the start of play. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries. Bear,
I congratulate you on delivering WA's 1st major tourney. Burswood has been conservative in the past but i understand your goal was to develop a culture and market. The buy in and deepstack format will go a long way in establishing Burswood's Poker in the tourney/cash game market. I'm confident the ME will be a lock out... I look forward to viewing the format and seeing that it reflects the quality of the event. AL

Not so much a suggestion as it is a pet hate of mine in live tournaments, but the 75 ante really slows the game down quite considerably - because there are never enough $25 chips and the dealer has to continually change up chips.
Just make it 50 or 100 imo. |
