TDA Rule 12 states : "Players are obligated to protect the other players in the tournament at all times." That in itself makes it pretty clear that the best enforcement of the rules always has, and always will come from the players themselves. If you notice something like this going on, it is your duty as a player to alert the Tournament Director. If you don't do this, then you may as well be adding the chips to your stack as well. Bringing something like this to the attention of the TD is very easily done, and can be done so discreetly also. |

The question is not cheaters but an environment that allows cheaters to cheat with minimal risk. There will always be cheaters or people who are tempted to cheat, but this can be severely limited if star city has processes in place to prevent or limit it. |

I too would love to know about any legitimate follow up on this.
Cheaters suck!!! btw, we have to count the tournament chips at the end of a night and they are logged the same as cash chips are. Even a single missing $25 tourney chip must be reported to the CCA. |

If all what has been said was true at the end of any tourney would the chips left be more or less than what was in play? if it happens alot then why would they not check footage after each tourney when the chips don't add up.

I just dont understand why you wont tell people who you are and who the people involved are if what you r posting is facts. Also, if it isnt facts, why are you posting it. Also stateing that you didnt alert tds to these actions for strictly selfish ego driven reasons is laughable and i wonder how many times you re read the statement before you decided you should post it.

Unfortunately casinos don't usually have two sets of tournament chips.
There are several reasons.Chips are very expensive and tournaments don't make much money for the casino. That is unless you run ripoffs like the World Series in Las Vegas.Unfortunately it is not easy to round up so many pathetic Lemings ,in one town at the same time. There are couple of ways to combat chip stealing,if the casino could be bothered.Once again labour intensive and rather expensive and time consuming. A casino could use chips with metal inserts.Once again one must consider the expense of these chips. The players would than have to be frisked with metal detectors as they enter the playing area. I am sure if the casino explained the reason, players would not mind. The other option would be for the casino to bite bit and be honest with the players. The Tournament Director could make a little speech and tell the players that some players are stealing certain denomination chips and that he would appreciate it if all players kept an eye out for stealing and returning of tournament chips. He could also ,several times a night, remind the players that cameras are watching all tables at all times, even if they are not,as is the case in most poker rooms. This may not completely eliminate the problem but it certainly would slow it down. A good and regular Tournament Director would also know most of the players and can almost predict who is capable of such tricks.Nothing wrong on keeping a vigilant eye on certain players. I myself, have in Moscow for ten years.I know 90% of the cheats, thieves and desperates by their record or reputation.Other players and managers warn me of some. I do my best but many casinos just could not be bothered as long as the tourist(not regulars)loses his money and leaves quietly and they get their rake.
