The only way it will happen is if people put pressure on star city to do this. |

CCA stands for Casino Control Authority. Its the state-govt regulatory bodies that says when star city jumps and how high. Most of the rules comes from them, not SC.

interesting, so is this information public? how many tournament chips have gone "missing"?

Surely the technology is cheap enough to have a little micro chip placed in a casino chip that would trigger a sensor if someone tried to take one out of the poker room......
Obviously this would only be applied to tournament chips as we all like to keep chips from the casinos we visit (?) -which is just easy money for the casinos. |

Here's what happens when you do report cheating to Star City right when it occurs - nothing. My name is Trevor and and I'm always playing tourneys so those of you who know of me will know I made a fuss about this loudly at the time.
Before Deb took over from Adam (and she's making VG progress) I caught a player dumping chips to his mate in a tourny (19 March). I heard the signal (and so did the dealer) and saw the play. One of these also is a very well known player who is constantly in the money in tourneys in Syd and Melb. I will not name names on a public forum due to defamation laws. I called the floor at the time. The TD took it lightly initially and did zip. When our table broke I was still loudly complaining so he went & interviewed the 2 guys. He came back & stated yes they agreed to what had happened but his view was it wasn't deliberate cheating so he only gave them a warning!! I'm yet to understand the difference between deliberate & non-deliberate cheating. The TD went on to say they were just a bit excited becaused they played cash games together. Nice B/S. Both players moved forward with decent stacks, stealing from every other player. If you cheat at other games (blackjack etc) you can bet you'll be frog-marched into a tiny room out the back. But not poker at Star. I emailed Adam the next day but he delayed & delayed until finally I reported it to the CCA. Adam departed and Deb came on the scene. She did her best in a bad situation. Naturally, Star denied everything, there was no survelaince available, the players were NOT interviewed by the CCA and the cosy little arrangement of some of the floor supervisors and their favoutite mate players continued (associations outside the casino?). Deb has been viligant but the cheats are still there. We all need to be aware and bring cheating and team play to the attention of the TD immediately or you may as well just throw your money to these guys. We all see the soft play checking down to mates, showing cards to mates with action pending and so on.........why do so many not speak up?? Are we just all happy to let them take our money? During the APPT in Sydney in the main event I brought an issue of 2 mates sitting next to each other showing cards 1 to the other with action pending - the supervisor (darker skin guy, you know who he is) simply gave a warning. A competent TD would give an immediate time penalty at least. These same 2 players went on to verbally abuse me & another player who later also complained about their tactics. No wonder people don't complain - NOTHING HAPPENS. Star is more worried about us eating in the pit! God forbid - I commited a sin last Wed by eating jelly beans. Lucky I did not get caught by the TD or I may have been disqualified. |
