A sceptic might say turning players away and having a day off, ie the media day, is basically a rio "stimulus" event. what are all those players turned away going to do with their time and money? play tables games... having said that it appeared every poker table at the rio was used- some poor bastards were playing the main event in the tiny rio poker room, maybe 20 tables between the sports bar and the buffet - joke! anyway scheduling the ME around july 4 weekend, a big holiday in the USA, wasnt too bright.
