how I got Holdem Manager for 'free'

It's not exactly free, and in my experience proved to be very painful.

There are several sites that are affiliated with holdem manager that allow new accounts to get their software by clearing a certain amount of raked hands. See the holdem manager site to see which sites apply.

I chose redkings, which is on the ongame network. I managed to accrue 500 points in just over a day by 4-tabling a mix of $25 and $50 PLO (.25/.25 and .50/.50 respectively). I suspect if you were to play holdem it would take twice as long.

If I could do things over, I would have deposited say $80 initially to make it easier to also collect on the 100% 1st deposit bonus as well as get the free software.

I'm just so very relieved that I don't have to play on redkings again. Even though I made a profit (5 to 10 full buy-ins) I absolutely despise the redkings user interface and layout.

My HM is giving me the shits this week - the hands are updating in the database but the on screen display when im playing is not updating so I cant check current stats, mark hands that I want to review later etc, any idea how to fix this anyone??

i thought someone would suspect that, especially because of the way i wrote it up. i'm not making any money or anything else from this. it's not that great of a deal anyway.

i wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to obtain it by playing low stakes. i wish i had recorded my sessions!

also, i think it would be good for pokernetworkers to use this tool and talk about it more on these forums.

i'm not a member of any other poker forum, though on occasion i have lurked elsewhere and it's plain obvious we are light years behind everyone else in decent content.

i didn't want to fork out the money to buy it because all i am using it for at the moment is p&l analysis and replaying hand histories. i.e. not using the HUD.

There is nowhere where around the net for a cracked version , they have the serial key protection down pat in which case good luck in finding a version without payment .
Each license key talks back to base and runs of a neat Regedit hash key .

Support the code monkeys and pay the $80 imo.
