Home Setups - Multiple Moniters

right now i have to do my full tourney load on a laptop... which sucks arse, but playing 15 tables on a 17" should mean i can play 40-something tables when i get back to my normal setup?

normally have a 30" arranged with a row of four, row of four, row of three... then the overflow goes onto my 22" screen (usually tournies that are in the first hour, or rebuys if i do afternoons etc)... and lobbies/msn/skype/net etc is on second screen as well. laptop is for my record keeping/porn/music.

the couple of times i have tried to just dump all tables on my 30 havent worked as well as the approach detailed above...

Being quite technically incompetent I have no idea how to set any of this up.

Re setups with laptop and multiple monitors... there's usually only one monitor output on a laptop. Did you use a splitter box? I believe they are $200? Thanks.
