Why have we heard nothing more about the State of Origin?

Is the event even going to run?

The host state not having selected a team is worrying... In fact as far as I can see only 3 of the 8 sides have been selected.

We have no structure for the "Captain's Choice" table, no points/prize breakdown.

Something rather immediate from Crown is needed.

Would be a real cool story to have made trans-hemispheric travel arrangements for no reason...

Maybe we will find out more information when Tony is finished with the WSOP main event.

It's his baby, and he hasn't been around in Melbourne lately to get things moving.

Would also like some more information re structures and naming of teams etc, but I guess some more stuff will be forthcoming next Friday and Saturday as we prepare for the event.

To my knowledge, all but the Territories team has been all but finalized. I'm still waiting on the final lists to be sent through and will post on here when I get them. I have a fair knowledge of who will be playing, however until the teams are finalized by the Captains, it is not for me to reveal.

This event will absolutely go ahead, and based on what I know of the players that may be playing, it should be a fantastic year.

As previously stated in another thread, the Captains Challenge will be a 7 game mixed event (HORSE, PLO, NLH), whereby teams can rotate players in at the commencement of every new game. Points will be awarded to the top 6 teams, with a 1:3 ratio of the Shootout final table.

Make no mistake, we certainly care about this event. I would like nothing better than to announce the final teams and have been requesting them for some time, however have to wait for them to be submitted before I can release them publicly.

Do players HAVE to rotate on the captains choice table? Is there a rotation system for this?
