So what is new Un Educated?
Australian casinos,all casinos for that matter,are there to rape customers on shareholders behalf.

I can just see the camera people looking over and over at the tape to find some excuse not to pay.
The guy gets a promotion,casino keeps the money and customer gets to smell the roses.
What an insult the voucher was.It is like winning $1,000 of a guy in a hand of poker and then throwing him a 25cent chip as consolation.

The problem is that the casino covers themselves with some rules that only benefit them.
For example if you find a chip near a gaming table and let them know,they claim it as their property.Why is it theirs?Because they wrote the rule.
I wish the lady all the best but don't rate her chances against a big corporation which has government backing.

If she had found a $1 coin on the floor in front of the machine and put it in the machine and won the jackpot would it still be 'theft by finding'?

I think this time it's not just Adelaide Casino, but any casino would have done the same thing.
It does raise so many questions though. I do see the casino staff remove credits on abandoned machines quite often. I once went to the cashier to get more coins and they removed a dollar or so from my machine. That time there was hardly anyone around and I didn't see the need to reserve the machine to get more change. I didn't get the money back either, she was just out of reach to call her back when I realised what she did and I didn't want to call the staff using the button and wait forever, I just let it go.
In these cases the casino should be charged with theft by finding too.

Now when I leave machines I often leave 1c on the machine for them to clear. I once left 1c on a whole row of machines after I saw an attended clear the credits on a machine. She didn't then open each machine and clear the credit, it was too hard. They have to write a log out each time.

Whether the casino pays the jackpot or not doesn't bother them, the money just got put back and paid to someone else.
Although they did steal the $1, and probably could be called a thief for that.

Because they are so concerned with this, I am sure she would gladly pay the costs to find this previous player to return his dollar to him.

Reminds me of Jupiters not paying out a jackpot because it had also paid a jackpot 2 spins earlier. So what? The Gold Coast bulletin ran with a headline quoted from Jupiters PR team "they're not supposed to payout" (carefully omitting the final part of the sentence "two spins out of three".)

Any gambling barrister or two will run a pro bono case on her behalf to attack Adelaide Casino. Any legal eagle would consider there is a strong prima facie case for a result in this. Lawyers are fully aware the media will run with it for weeks; it is the type of story that sells papers. SkyCity will be forced to reach an agreement with her. She will get a least half if any legal heavyweight volunteers to help her. This may well have already eventuated.

And the handwritten $250 special is a really damning piece of documentation that will haunt them for a while.
