That's what it will cost to play ALL events featured at 2012's Crown Aussie Millions.
How many young guns are going to pony up this amount and still seek a room rate discount from jonno ?

Thanks for reading our article at Poker Asia Pacific ... but there is more to it then just spending $431,550.
Firstly you are forgetting that some events clash with others, and only a small selection of players will play multiple events during the Aussie Millions.
Also do you really think the young guns are going to play events that they don't believe they have any edge in? $250,000 Challenge, $100,000 Challenge, $25,500 Semi-Shootout, $10,500 8 Game, $5,300 Heads Up, $5,300 Six-Handed, $5,000 Chinese?
Just missing these big buy-in event saves $401,600 and means that the 'young gun' you are referring to only needs to spend $29,950 (plus additional rebuys and addons) to play 19 Aussie Millions events.
And why wouldn't you seek a room discount from Crown if you are going to be there for 2 weeks? Saving money is saving money regardless of how you do it, and if it reduces your expenses for the trip then why not take it!

Quote Tassie Devil, "Surely anyone can win . . . all I need is Aces versus Kings a few times".
From what I read on here, the Young Bums have an edge in every game. Just ask them.
So why shouldn't they play every event they can for as big a buyin as possible.
A real pro should have a significant skill edge shouldnt they ? So a $250,000 buyin should give our little online, live with mum and dad kiddies, an edge in value of $125,000 (if you ask them).
The prize is huge and they are highly skilled players ? No ?
Imagine Usain Bolt not wanting to run in a 100m race for a $2m 1st prize - because he thought he didnt have a big enough edge .......... Young Guns should use their edge at every opportunity ....
A successful business wouldnt knock back a $2,000,000 sale just because they have to offer a 10% discount (Going back to my business analogy)
Maybe the young guns are at least smart enough to understand deep down that variance is just a synonym for LUCK.
I couldn't find the forum there,,,,could i have the $10 i donated please?
PS....re: EDGE
EVERYONE thinks they have an EDGE at 8-ball
EVERYONE thinks they have an edge at POKER .....( especially those they act weak when they are STRONG,,,and act STRONG when they are weak )
My favorite are the under 25's who stare you down with their :
(a) cap
(b) sunnies
(c) earphones
(d) energy drink
(e) massuese
(f) hand on their cock
(g) twittering their stack size at end of first break to the universe
...stare you down for 4 mins til some dick calls 'clock'/'time' and then the muck and just enough to be heard say " i know i had ya, yet i will let you have this one, take it down"
Tim, you have traveled the world and seen many a poker tournament, 3 % at BEST make any sort of money, be it to get square or bink....the other 96% LOSE cash,,,real money.
The other 1% are rail or reporters...
wait ? what/....?
Everyone's posts so far are retarded, except duckys, which actually make sense.
No one thinks they have a 50% roi in the 250k challenge
And DI your condescending tone towards the 'young guns' who actually beat the game is laughable considering you couldn't even beat the games they do.
And UE the only people who tank forever are the 'live pros', the online 'young guns' you refer to want to speed up the game not slow it down.
And people wonder why this forum isn't worth posting on anymore.
Diplomatic Immunity, I don't know what's happened in the past 12 months because you used to be a pretty reasonable and likable guy. But your posts recently are nothing short of rambling garbage.
The thing I find most ironic is that IF the young guns ever decided that poker was just about luck they would be smart enough to move away from it. Because these are intelligent people you are talking about. You will almost never find any of these guys sitting at the blackjack table, or playing craps or sports betting. They just play poker because they believe there is an edge. Whether you believe in that edge or not is up to you, but they believe it.
But let's look at you on the other hand. Here we have you, claiming there is no skill in poker, claiming variance is just another word for luck yet you STILL play poker.
Playing a game you believe you really have no hope of beating in the long run - doesn't that just make you a gambling addict ??
Shades ......
This forum has been overrun by kids who all claim to be pro's, yet most still live with their parents and can' earn the average Australian wage from poker. Then they have the nerve to get on here and tear into a lot of older, respected people whose life experiences could teach them, and save them a lot of money in the long run if they wanted too. I have heard it all from players who deride the "live" players and I have become jaded and sick of listening to kids talking how great they are because they play on the Internet.
They talk online poker up when in reality - 100% of the online sites have either :
Stolen all of players money
Been involved in theft and allowed collusion
Left backdoors in their sites which allowed players to see hole cards
etc etc.
And the sites that havent been caught yet just continue to flout Australian laws by thumbing their noses at our Interactive Gambling Act ....... You were in Government once Shades .... So you should certainly be aware of these laws.
I play the game for enjoyment - Much like I go and spend $100 on a round of golf - for enjoyment. I don't expect to win the Masters one day.
I guess I am getting old .... But truth be told, I just love listening to the dreams of the kiddies, who all think they are the next superstar.
I have already found a fool proof way to beat this game
SO TRUE diplomatic immunity...
These online sites have been PROVEN cheats and thieves and STILL these young guns sing their praises similar to those ready to sip some Kool-Aid and keel over into the next life where some claim await 72 virgins.
The only virgins in sight, are the young guns who have yet to be see that these online poker sites are about to take their virginity,,,,,and i mean prison style.
It is, unfortunately, human nature,,,,where money and power is way too much a temptation for way too many.
They design a website,,,go thru the early hoops of bringing on merchant and credit facilities and software bugs and hackers and marketing,,,,THEN ,,,they decide that they get their own back by showing hole cards to their mates, delaying or outright refusing withdrawals ( where if they aren't making cash off the daily interest accumulated, they sure as shit are making it from the drop off/attrition rate of those so frustrated with delays ).
SO some young guns don't play blackjack ? Geez Louise, I dont play slots or smoke fag dick either, Julia Gillard.
Please, enough of the nothing statements relating to what young guns 'dont do'
Please.
Young guns will one day be broke guns and older guns...
The number of players that have posted with cockiness, then returned years later with the "JK and older generation " are growing.
The rest have gone so broke, that they just have sold their computer and bowed out to a REAL world job.
Fact.
