But be careful, one more poem about JK. and may actually become a living legend.

Is the Manila game at Crown limit or no limit?

    Just wondering.

Manila is unique in it's 5 betting rounds, ALWAYS on a limit structure.

At Crown, the 3 card and 2 card Manila varieties are HUGE cash cows for CROWN.

As they don't have same conditions as club operator faces.

In the clubs, the first community card would be greeted with a blind of $5 or more in general....

Up to three 'limits' were allowed on the first card,,,,,EG,,,,$5 ( call ) ,,,$15 STRAIGHT ,,,,UP ( $25 to play now ) ,,,and KUPPELLO ( cap ) .,,,$35...

Then the second card would be $10,,,,with up to 3 raises allowed.

Same with 3rd and 4th cards.

Fifth community card is $20,,,,with UNLIMITED RAISES back and forth.

SO , to get to the 5th card, may cost you,,$175,,,,just to see if u made your nut flush ( or to see if u will sleep in the park - With yesterday's newspaper )

The unwritten rule in the club, was that the "boss" coud not check raise into you,,,,and,if the 'boss' RAISED you, he had to have the absolute kahuna-nuts and all players would politely fold,,,,,and the boss would take in the pot and politely flash the quads etc.

The boss was a role that was both profitable and tough at times.

The rake in clubs was 5% UNCAPPED...( unlike crown $8 for first $100 , which is theft as well ) ...YET , the club owner,,aka Caffigi....( coffee club operator ) had to provide credit to losing players AND had to pray that the loser won their money back in order to play him and the cashed up players lost.

Cashed up players are cashed up cos they rarely lose.....

    It was a battle.

I'd wager JacksonTens could take a lot of money off the 40+ crowd in heads up 10-game. So could most of the young guns if you gave them a few months to learn the intricacies of the game. Hell, if the standard of the 1k 8-game events at Aussie Millions is anything to go by, i'd play most of the older generation in the stud games and i'm not even particularly good at Stud.

In any case i'm sure you could find some takers if you can find some old guard players willing to put their money where their mouth is, and then we could all find out.

I think your going a bit far with 'ultimate' fwiw when I am over lhe and mix I play 30/60 7CS at Commerce, usually 3-4handed. I play it because it is full of 40+ year olds who are terrible. It remains this way because younger people seldom play it even though it is a pretty simple game to be fair.

I could be persuaded to play heads up Hearts. My favourite version is four handed unless players start playing teams.
We played a lot of Hearts in the old days when Adelaide was the home of poker.
We did have a problem when Sam Khouis and Garry B played together, saving the Black Bitch for other players. We had to make the rule that you had to play the Queen if someone played the Ace or the King of Spads.

    Hi Chromis.
In Hearts the idea is to avoid scoring points.Hearts are bad for you as is the Queen of Spades. The Queen is the worst being worth 15 or 25 points, depending the game you are playing and the score you are using.
So if you take a trick containing the Ace of Hearts and the Queen of Spades,40 points go against your name.
All the Hearts are worth face value and the pictures are worth 10 points each.
Ace is 15,the Queen is 25.So you see if you only give the Queen to particular player and two of you gang up on this player, this player has no chance.
This is a form of cheating just as in poker when players play teams.
