Hi All,

I have asked several players to confirm this to me, and the general consensus has been 100% the same.

Crown has a display of massive photos of all the past Oz Millions winners; yet there is no photo; pic or display of last year's winner David Gorr.

If so; this is pretty embarrassing on 2 levels:

1. He is the first local Melbourne winner of the Oz Millions (other locals have won many years ago; but it wasn't the "Oz Millions", so it doesn't warrant the prestige with all due respect to those players pre Oz Millions).

2. Crown have had a whole year to organise this. The photo should have been up alongside the previous winners asap. It's a pretty piss poor effort!!!

I am quite happy to stand corrected on this issue if somebody confirms that there is a photo of David alongside the 2010 winner. All you have to do is tell me exactly where it is in the Las Vegas room.

If I am correct and there is no photo then YOU SUCK BIG TIME CROWN!!!

P.S. I hope this isn't yet another example of local players being overlooked and treated like shit by Crown; but then again it would hardly surprise me.
P.P.S. I haven't been on this forum for ages. Are you allowed to criticise Crown on PNW or is only arse kissing allowed??? I guess I'll find out soon enough if this post is taken down by whomever is moderating it.

Wizdumb, so technically there is a photo so I stand corrected and Crown have done their job to some degree. I say to some degree coz to the best of my knowledge, all the past winners were alongside each other on the back wall of the High Rollers area on the main poker room floor. I know exactly what location you are talking re: escalators.
Therefore he's stuck in a corner and not alongside all the other previous winners otherwise nobody would be telling me there's no photo of him.

P.S. In case anybody is wondering what my issue is eventhough a photo has now been confirmed; it's the following: The most recent winner should be the most predominantly displayed photo in the room eg: multiples etc... especially considering the player will be a recognised face in person as a very loyal Crown and poker regular for over 20 years. In my opinion, I don't think Crown have given the adequate amount of kudos to David's achievement let alone loyalty. Then again; we all know Crown don't give a stuff about loyalty. They'll kiss a High Rollers arse and forget your name every year the Oz Millions rolls around

hmmmm...there's a large picture of him when you get to the top
of the escalators next to the smoking area(or "in the corner" as
you put it).

When you enter the poker room his photo is right there next to all
the previous winners of the Aussie Millions.

There is also the one as seen in the previous post.

I don't know if that's "technical" enough for you,but if i had my
face on a display that extends almost to the roof of the poker
room,i would think that's prominent enough.

Well I concur with what the Fiddla is saying. If David Gorr was younger, better looking, oozing (or with quirky) personality his face would have been plastered all over Crown.

But he doesn't fit what the global poker mega-industry media-obsessed powerbrokers want to see in the winners circle. He's not marketable; he has no appeal to punters (esp. the core 21-35 yo group) and they would be hoping like hell that someone that fits the bill wins this year (and they can retire 2011 as a one-off).

So its just as well an ugly oldie like me isn't entering because I'm worse than David. (and there is also the slight problem of getting to the table)

Wait and see the contrast with this years winner. What about an attractive mid 20's female gets the luck of the century and scoops the pool. Bingo: how much traffic would that generate for the following decade amongst the female population in all poker betting options? Every news desk around the world would cover the story. Pretty faces sell stories. The empire would hit pay dirt.

I'm saving up for cosmetic surgery in prep for 2013.

(and this year I'll be anywhere but Melbourne. When the Aussie Millions is on all the wannabe's re-emerge back into all the other mainland casinos believing all the better players are in Melb and they can clean up. Yummo)

I think it's just a matter of poor interior design.

The pictures of winners up to and including 2010 pretty much cover the entire wall space.

They would have to create new ones to fit them all. I'm guessing they'll do this after a 2012 champion is crowned
